Ok, review time. I read Doushitemo Furetakunai last year or the year before, and even though I didn't give five stars to that one, when I think about it, something inside me changes. I can't really remember how I found Saezuru, and at first, there were a few problematic elements about this story that I was worried about. But then, suddenly I couldn't stop talking about it. "Saezuru, saezuru, saezuru", all for the really interesting and promising thing that could happen. It happened, but in a so much better way than I thought.
Yoneda Kou made Yashiro into a real human. She explains his behavior, and she justifies it. In the beginning, I didn't understand Doumeki's feelings, because it was sudden to me. But the well-developed story, the complex characters, and the mixed and fucked feelings you feel with them are so well-integrated. Really, this is amazing. That kind of story that gives me so many new feelings that I don't mind the way that the story will end. Of course, I hope, inside my heart, that both of them can finally be happy in the end. If I could say, it's something like Ash Lynx's death in Banana Fish. We hate it, but the whole plot and development were so great that we - try - to forgive Akimi Yoshida for it.
And, of course, I must say: the art is amazing, the prettiest I've ever seen. There's not a single flaw in the story. Yes, I hate seeing rape, but here this subject is something to be overcame, and not something to be praised.
I didn't love Yashiro or Doumeki. I hated Ryuuzaki. Now, I love Yashiro so much, because I understand his actions. That's what a good mangaka is like. And yes, I would fuck Doumeki and I adore Ryuuzaki, he's so funny and transparent.
That's right. I guess Saezuru gets into my top five mangas. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks to everyone involved. Yashiro, don't be sad, your man is still yours and he always was.
