ni-ka-CHUUUUUUUUUU's manga / #tragedy(39)

Nemureru Hana

Complete | Ebihara Yuri | 2006 released

Honestly its not good. I like the direction they were going abut misunderstanding and such but it was extremely unrealistic. The uke is a victim of countless physical, sexual, and emotional yet his personality doesn't match that history. It made sense that he blames everything on himself yet he was more than willing to talk about his past (something I'm more than positive most victims of abuse can't easily do). I have absolutely no idea why the fiancee is completely apathetic to the uke. And..... I can't believe this story even attempted to cram a forced love story between the uke and seme. There is too many open wounds in their relationship for there to even have A HINT of romantic feelings for each other. Maybe down the road but that part of the story was so unbelievable. But even then, realistically, the seme would deeply apologize, and get the fuck out of his life. Actually, the only reason I would accept for the seme for not leaving is because he wants to help the uke understand his self-worth (and I guess he technically hints that at the end but like, I call bullshit). I won't even label this a romance because there is none of that. So to sum things up, this manga tries to take a very serious and realistic concept and does I really really shit job conveying it in an convincing way. You're supposed to feel sad for the uke (which I do) but isn't developed well enough for the reader to really feel for him, or even the other characters. There are also a shit ton of plot holes that I won't even begin to go over because it's not worth it. *sighs* So frustrating

GOD EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS SO RIGHT. A STRONG RELENTLESS UKE AND A DEVOTED STRONG SILENCE SEME. GREAT CHEMISTRY AND SEXUAL TENSION. GOOD PLOT AND CHARACTERS. I'M OBSESSIVELY FANGIRLING OVER THIS. BUT FOR REAL THE UKE IS

The Beast Must Die

Complete | Lee hyeon sook | 2019 released

3.75 Ughhhhh so frustrating. The workings of a psychopathic killer was interesting and hot. And I appreciate how being kinda realistic that he can’t really love but ughhhh that’s so many concepts that are just dropped. Like what happened to the ukes revenge plot? Why didn’t they go the Bonnie and Clyde route? Why there fuck does that police guy let him off the hook? The semes attempt to cut off the uke was hella flimsy. And the time skip was random. I hate that the art turned into your typical hot Manhwa dudes with obnoxious abs In the end the plot lead to something predictable. One plus: the accurate representation of an architecture student lol
