I watched the anime. Why couldn't there have been a happy ending? Safu died, Nezumi and Shion don't stay together, Shion doesn't see his mother in the end, Safu called for Shion till her dying breath, millions of dead bodies, grandma died AND they hinted at her body being in a pit, west side was completely destroyed, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BABY (NEW BEGINNINGS???) AND DOGLOAN AND RIGIRIKI OR WHATEVER DITCHED. I'M SO SADDDDD AHHHHHHHHHH.
