Coyote (ZARIYA Ranmaru)
This author is a great story teller and an artist! She has always amazed me with her cast of characters and story settings. Each time it is something new and different. The story line for 'Coyote' isn't exactly original nor is the whole warewolf-hunter x warewolf pairing but the way the story is fleshed out and the pacing is amazingly authentic trademark style of the author. She, once again, successfully managed to take all of us on a romantic page turner ride and turn each one of us - the readers- into her fans! Waiting for more :)
Gelateria Supernova
Probably the best sex friends to lovers story! I plead author-sama to not stop creating these amazing romances. She peddles some love and joy in to our hearts this way. It is so rare these days. Talking about the manga: Personally I usually dislike(just a tiny little bit) the internal monologues of the characters whenever there were not many conversations in the manga. Obviously the way Satoya and Naoki started their relationship there were no conversation and the story was taken forward by Satoya's POV with him narrating it to us. That narration was melancholicly beautiful. The way the ice cream and its flavours were used as metaphors to drive home the point about the dynamics of their relationship is well executed. That metaphor carried along through the story beginning with 'I ordered only vanilla and he ordered different flavours'- it described their lives. Satoya had a plain monotomus life whereas Noaki was a bit different each time ( he may or may not have liked it). The initially friendly banter with Naoki suggesting Satoya to try new flavours - possibly hinting the attempts made to persuade Satoya to change things and take initiative to express his feelings and wishes unlike all the previous times. He had to move on from 'Vanilla'. Then him realising that his life isn't like how it had always been 'I don't like this Vanilla. I wanted his' describing the stages of the romance and finally concluding it by saying 'When we kissed he tasted like Vanilla' - expressing how they needed each other and waited all by themselves hoping the other would make the first move. Finally both came forward. It might seem obvious to us as readers about the all the hints and advances made by the character and what they feel about the other but it is not possibly to notice all of that as a character. They have their own inhibitions, doubts and limitations. The point is not how the should have started it the right way from the beginning. It is about the journey to how they finally date each other. I love this author and this was yet another great story from her.
Erotoro
The first two stories were good too but at Ishikawa Kei steals the show at the end of the day. My rating of 4/5 is just for her.
Mikami to Sato wa Mada Yamashikunai
This looks like fun manga. EDIT: It is a fun manga. It is developing in cliche style but paced just right. All the characters are lovely and are correct from their point of view. Sometimes we read so much yaoi yaoi that we forget the realistic aspects of yaoi. This one, though not completely, was realistic and I liked that about it. We don't want our lover boy confessing with half baked feelings. What Akari's friend did was the right thing. Akari should know what is in the for him. It's sad but it is the truth.
