I cried, I laughed, I felt the pain through their backstories. I haven't read such a well-paced yaoi in a LONG time (even the ones I love probably don't have such a good pace as this). all of their backstories are really heart-breaking, and their love is unique- this yaoi doesn't focus on the stereotypical love we're all used to. it has a more mature feel to it, more of wanting to be next to each other, to be supporting one another rather than a simple attraction. we can see that kind of love develop throughout the story, and Ayumu (the kid) adds a whole other level of depth that rounds out and completes the story. The portrayal of real, raw human emotions were also very well done, I thought each character had a great sense of depth to them. Really well done.
on another note, I'd LOVE a spin-off with Ayumu and Kazuya when they're in middle school/ high school since they already have the whole 'childhood friends' trope and the 'tsundere uke and attached/clingy, playful (puppy-like?) seme' vibe going (´∀｀)♡
