I Like You

Complete | Momopia | 2000 released

The classic misunderstanding trope. Not only that, but it's a comedy. What more could a girl want? I always seem to find myself rereading this masterpiece >>>Update I reread the story, and it wasn't precisely a misunderstanding... more like.... relationship that started with a lie, the lie being the phrase: "I like you." I can see why I only liked and remembered the main couple, Andy and Jesse. Their story starts with Andy on his way to bring drinks to his bullies when he comes across Jesse, the "top dog," and the math teacher breaking up. Jesse spots him and looks as if he is going to murder him, so Andy tries to save himself from a beat down with the only thing he can come up with; saying, "I like you," At first, Jesse rejects him because he still was suffering from a broken heart, but with a few encounters he had with Andy made him decide to date him. Andy had no choice but to deal with it. Their storyline was enjoyable in the beginning. Andy would do these little things that gave Jesse the impression that he really liked him. It was hilarious to see Andy freak out mentally and when he started to like Jesse back. But it felt like the author rushed their relationship, and one major part of their relationship never got solved: Andy lied about wanting him in the first place. The second couple is a complete shitstorm. Jesse's father, Joel is a piece of shit (he's always on Jesse's case-giving him curfew and basically never giving him freedom. That is probably why Jesse became a delinquent in the first place. Joel dated a woman without telling her he was a minor. They broke up when she found out and never saw each other again until one day, the woman returned with her son, giving it to Joel since she was dying of cancer and couldn't take care of him anymore. When Joel's girlfriend found out that he had a son that even he didn't know about, she dumped him, and Joel blamed the loss on his son Jesse right to his face. He literally told his only son that he RUINED his life. Gotta give Joel the best father of the year) and so is the person he ends up being in love with. Not only does he love this kid Chase, but he's the same age as his son. My man's literally a pedo. Their ending was like: "But I'm a minor! In two minutes, you won't be. I can adopt you as my son so the world can see us as a legal family". Chase is also a manipulative piece of shit. Conclusion: The 1st couple is okay. The second couple had me wanting to bleach my eyes. No wonder why I completely forgot about them; they're fucking horrible!
