And his chest started to feel warm whenever they were close. In the middle of their silly antics, these two lonely guys start falling mutually inlove. Thanatos (the shinigami) kept living with the human trying to deny that he wanted to let this human live until another knock at death's door arrived for his favourite Asahi. Unable to deny the love he's feeling, he decided to exchange his own for Asahi's. Nobody really knows what will happen to Shinigami's that "disappeared" but he still did it. So Asahi lived and kept his memory. I thought he (thanatos) was just going to fade way like that but later, we see a reborn shinigami without memory, and now as a guardian angel. It's practically a restart. But at the bonus page, we see a hint that he will eventually recover his memory even bit by bit. But the feelings of love? it's already there, ready to be remembered once again. I love the bittersweet ending.
