one of the best josei stories i've read, despite it having the quite cheesy vampire-human relationship situation. it's ok cuz the heroine made me like her.

practically the first paperback manga i bought. still one of the best for me, the one that started my appreciation for dark and psychological titles. and it's amazing and detailed art even in it's time is irresistible.

A josei manga with beautiful art, nice fantasy setting and delicious BL undertones. *2017 update: it's a miracle that it's getting picked up again... hope to see this through the end :) [ 2016-01-13 15:39 marked]

p.1-22: long-time friends. #friends to lovers. straight seme has been attracted to gay uke for a long time most probably but kept on denying it. marriage arrangement by the parents drove it home tho. #tsundere #doctor seme x carefree #airhead #lyricist uke. / p. 23-49: an actually dark drama i did not really expect. #sci-fi. #scientist, droid designer and his #spoiled brother who kept on requesting this 'sexadroids'. #group sex #slutty uke #incest but technically not incest.. ./ p.50-61: a fairytale that turned to be not a happy fairy tale after all. #drama #tragic. #apocalyptic oneshot. #shounen-ai ./ p. 62-78: a non-BL, #josei story of an old man remarrying. very devoted wife but he eventually got tired. ./ p. 79-end: a gay #pianist who bathed in fame and enjoyed his men is now a bearded, faded ojisan. he gets by floating in life along with his hopes of getting another pretty boy. fate had a different plan in him tho. #suicide plans. #no smut.

This is a masterpiece largely underrated outside Japan. Meanwhile, this manga received accolades and awards for being ground-breaking and being one unique josei story with a well-researched historical backdrop.

I avoided it exactly because it's YUU-frigging-WATASE, the mother of cheesy, Uber dramatic shoujo. (And I still had a bone to pick against her with her arata kangatari) However, I cannot deny her skills in weaving good, imaginative stories as expected of a veteran mangaka from my generation. Note: This is published in a shoujo/josei magazine

Nope not BL. Just the usual gender bender. Just a FUJOSHI BAIT UNLESS PROVEN OTHERWISE I repeat NOT BL!!!!! I can give a ton of hentai titles that has similar plotlines like this. They are just using the gender switch to find an excuse to deliver smut.
