I started this and then I stopped. But then I wanted to watch the K drama adaptation of it so I restarted it. But basically it’s about this girl who has cancer and she is lying in a hospital waiting for her friend to come or her husband, but her husband hasn’t visited her at all and she ends up getting in the car to go home. Her husband hasn’t been paying their hospital bills so they kick her out and she gets in this taxi and this man is basically talking to her telling her know about life and everything and gives her a dollar or something like that and she gets out of the taxi. But for some reason, she can’t remember the taxi drivers face she gets up into her house only to find out that her best friend is sleeping with her husband, and they are going to take the insurance money from her death to pay for their lifestyle. So, rightfully so, she gets upset and she confronts them. She gets into a little tiff with them and her husband ends up, pushing her into a glass table and she passes away. But in doing so she transports into the past 10 years ago. And this is before she ends up, marrying her trashcan husband and right now she’s just working with him and her friend at this company. So the entire time she is trying to push her friend to like her husband, which her friend already likes the husband just because the LL likes him and the friend wants to hurt the LL, but yeah. So she’s trying to push her friend into a relationship with her husband, well, it’s her boyfriend at that time. She gets them together and in doing so she gets some actually really good friends. So the leading man also ends up being transported back 10 years. The taxi driver is actually the LL deceased father and sends him back because he was in love with the leading lady the entire time. Of course he just never said anything, and his sister ends up being her friend. The leading lady also becomes friends with, some workers at their job and it’s basically her trying to change her fate while also getting revenge on her ex best friend and her boyfriend/husband. Then she ends up getting into a relationship with the leading man of course, and come to find out the leading man is the Owner of the company grandson so then she ends up having a rich boyfriend and living a better life than her best friend and the best friend gets upset and tries to kill her, but it doesn’t work out so best friend ends up going to prison and the boyfriend ends up in a car crash. And she ends up with kids super happy.

so this was not a bad book, but I don’t think I would read it again. It was basically the leading lady marries this guy who she fell in love with and had to practically beg her dad to marry, and he is incompetent and stupid and terrible all around as a person. he then starts cheating with her twin sister to also poison her so that the sister can become his legal wife. The leading lady finds out on their fifth anniversary and plots revenge. She gets revenge for the husband, but a prophecy is revealed that the emperors child will be from one of the girls in their family. So seeing as she is married, the emperor proposes marriage to her sister. The sister promptly breaks off things with the leading lady’s husband, which he does not like so then he tries to take her down and actually ends up getting her pregnant. so the lady ends up divorcing her husband and she, her sister, and the emperor end up getting married with the LL as the empress and the sister as a concubine. This is because probably can’t get pregnant after being poisoned for years and the emperor can’t take a chance on not having his child. The ladies husband ends up being poisoned by his servant who he tried to frame for all of the mess that he had did. And then leading lady and the emperor form alliance that he doesn’t sleep with the sister for some time while she gets fertility treatments. The lady falls in love with the emperor. The emperor won’t allow himself to fall in love with the leading lady because he was hurt by his parents and his dad’s cheating. Come to find out the leading lady’s sister killed their dad and the leading lady’s sister is not her sister. It’s her cousin, so the prophecy has nothing to do with her. The leading man’s half brother’s Uncle ends up, trying to kill the leading man and ropes in the sister/cousin and they end up getting caught and they die. Then the leading lady somehow reverses her infertility and has a baby with the emperor and they live happily ever after.

This was a mess. This is so crazy. So this girl is traumatized because her family was — I want to say either killed or abused by this man. I’m pretty sure her dad was killed by him. I also think that her mom was assaulted by this man. So, she grows up kind of sort of a prisoner of sorts to whatever he is in charge of — I can’t figure out if it’s like an island or just a place. So anyways, she grow up and she is a sacrifice for her people or something like that and she ends up, marrying the creepy, old man who killed or whatever her family and he… can’t get it on. His servant/right hand man, is then supposed to sleep with his young bride (emphasis on young) and impregnate her in his place. She is like that’s fine. I don’t care because as long as I don’t have the old man’s seed or further, his family line, which is basically what her revenge is. She doesn’t want the old man’s family line to proceed. So, she is like Imma asleep with everybody but that old man and that’s cool for me. Come to find out the right hand man is his illegitimate son, but she’s so stuck on the good good that she keeps hunching. Still, she's like oh no I shouldn’t be sleeping with him because if I sleep with him, I’m still furthering that old man’s line but you know she is doing what she can so yeah.

I finally finished it. When I say finally, I mean this took so long. The book kind of actually ended at chapter 120 or something like that but they had little side stories for the next like 30 chapters. But I finally finished it and I am so happy. The book was OK. I started it before, but it was still being written so I started and stopped a couple of times before actually even finishing it. It’s basically a revenge story. One thing that I didn’t quite understand is how she had so much power and yet she never really used it. I just felt like she should’ve used her power in fighting situations a lot more than showed because it seemed that she was actually a lot more weak willed than she was, and she was just pretending to be strong. Or like they were trying to create her to be a strong female character, but I never believed it. Either way her family was kind of trash and I was actually a little bit sad that her mom ended up dying although her mom was trying to kill her. She kind of turned it around and was trying to help her in the end but she still ended up dying. I was like, but I mean she wasn’t really trying to help her. She was more so helping herself so yes and no. But I felt like they paste it very oddly. The whole thing with the Empress Stanger I guessed it immediately and I was like OK let’s just see how this plays out. But honestly, I felt that led up to this whole big crescendo this climax that really was anti-climactic. So the whole thing is basically like she hast to become the Arabella so that she can stop this disease from spreading and that literally starts at I want to say the beginning of the book , it’s like right when she makes her contract with the Duke. But they never express her a version to being a contract kid or even going to them addressing the contract after it’s made. I was thinking that we were going to have a little bit more along the lines of your our real daughter and we care about you. We don’t want the contract anymore. We just want you kind of conversations. But instead, they kind of just welcomed her and she had one or two other fleeting moments where she was like well I’m just a contract kid and then they never addressed it. She was like I’m just part of the family And I’m like what like we never got over that. And we also had a moment where she was like. I’m scared of fire and all of this but they kind of tried to bring it back with stones and I was like no no she’s not afraid of fire stones that was the whole point of the stone was that there was no fire in the house so she wasn’t afraid of fire stones but OK . Another thing they had addressed was the whole situation with the mom being betrayed. We don’t know how she got betrayed and how she got this car on her face. I thought they were gonna explain it in the extras, but they never did she just got betrayed that’s it that’s what they said and I was like OK whatever I don’t really care but I thought they would’ve explained it instead they explained how the parents met and how the dad got his scar but OK. so anyways back to the plot, it was kind of like how she was introduced to the family. The oldest brother Rielee took her and the younger brother was a little bit more weary of her and took some time to warm up then she goes and has all of these little side Things that go into how she becomes the Arabella and I’m like OK whatever I don’t really care and she becomes Arabella and now we’re just literally filling in time so that we can get to the point where she hast to fulfill her duties. At this time we realize that or at least I did that they needed to create romance and I was like I’m not feeling it. I really felt that the man liking her just came out of nowhere. I know it was supposed to be like oh you know I’ve like her for so long. I’ve been her friend for so long and this and the third, but it really came out of nowhere and he was over here like she reminds me of my little brother . Chemistry like they were fine, but I was like she she could’ve had somebody else or he could’ve been with somebody else I really wouldn’t of cared. To climax, so the whole thing with the temple was actually a pretty good fight scene except like she got tricked by them two kids, and I was like how you get tricked by it but go off . And then it just didn’t make a lot of sense and I was like I do not care and then the whole fight scene. Now the fight scene was in different places because the mom was fighting the Empress, the dad was fighting her old dad, she was also fighting her dad and plus the assassins and then her brother was fighting the assassins and was helping the mom , the other brother was helping mom and then I don’t know why but all of a sudden now they’re attacking the Dukes house and the leading man kind of sort of arrested his daddy and then he was going and fighting and I don’t even like he was he was everywhere he was helping the mom and then he was helping her and I was like, bro where are you , and that whole situation was just so confusing, annoying because it was like built up to be like this huge fight. It was so good but it wasn’t. And I want to say mostly it’s because the dumb king. so the king was like oh my gosh no my son is my son blah blah blah and I’m like who cares that boy is not your son. You may have thought he was your son all these years but he’s not your biological son OK and he is your stepmother son who she’s trying to Make the king and he’s cool with that so he was gonna use syrup the throne and like no offense, but you knew that your brother also had betrayed you you’re stupid. He was just letting anybody and everybody get away with everything and then they want to be like oh yeah he didn’t let anybody off when they found no no. Mr. teddy bear was just trying to look hard, but he was really reeling. He he was not a good king and he really did a disservice to the people of that kingdom. I felt that they deserved better and he would have led them Into despair he would have. But he was like oh we needed time of peace and pieces but we needed time of peace with the competent king and he was not. He was way too nice and way too weak willed as well. So anyways, the wife would’ve better better than him , but yeah, so all of that and then we end with her sucking up the virus or the plague or whatever and then we go into the side stories and I’m like you know what as a matter of fact I couldn’t care less about this dumb book anymore, it was around the time where she went to the temple that I was like yeah I don’t wanna read this anymore and I just like kept reading and it was I had to push I had to push, but yeah So I don’t think I would ever read this again. It was the first time and that’ll be good enough for me.

So basically the story is about the leading lady and how she was betrayed by her supposed, best friend and then her family was ruined, but on her deathbed, she ends up making a wish and going back in time and saying that if she could do it all over again, she’s not gonna let her best friend ruin her life. So it’s literally just her getting revenge on her best friend and I honestly thought it was really satisfying. I also kinda like that there was this one chapter, I think it was chapter 171, that we really see why the villain did everything that she did. Honestly, I kind of felt like we could’ve seen it earlier, but I wasn’t upset when it came up. It wasn’t like, I think the villainess’ revenge manga where she actually ends up being like really trash as a person. It’s more like she uses her villainess activities just for the leading lady and like 2 to 3 other people basically and then she actually was like oh no I could save the country. So she does kinda use people but it’s also kinda for their own good. But she ends up also meeting the first Prince and they fell in love and they get engaged at the end. So yeah, she saved her family, she got a new man m, more friends. She got her family maids on her side, the people at the clinic, and literally everybody in high society loves her. The whole country calls her the angel of the Empire. She makes friends with the saintess, and her man is a hero. She basically lived happily ever after and there was a lot of twist I was like the rebelling who some of the bad guys are. I primarily thought it wasn’t that good but I actually really enjoyed it.
