Super angsty start, lots of feels. Kid abused by parent for wanting to paint, sold off and used as a slave to shadow paint for another awful family. To the point of death. One day merchant happens upon the paintings, wants one to help gaining status/power to avenge his parents who died to corruption and power. Saves painter uke, treats him well and helps with his trauma and getting him to paint again. Ethically helping him, develops feels, in denial at first but then goes with it. Unfortunately loves him but cant let go his revenge, intended to marry into royalty, uke unwavering loyalty despite pain and suffering. Uke then kidnapped, seme decides to throw it all away to get him back and live happily ever after in modesty instead. Cute af ending, uke is best boy.
