Although Soh kind of blackmailed Ian that he would expose Ian to the priest that he had killed, someone, Soh took good care of Ian, taught him about magic and raise his self-esteem (and fell inlove with him). Later it seems like Soh wants to take Ian back with him and away from the evil priest, and that is where the main conflict begins.
