mincognito's manga / #straight x gay(1)

Tatoeba Konna Koi no Hanashi

Complete | HAMADA Kamome | 2000 released

Based on real life... straight x gay, slice of life, high school-university, cohabitation, inexperienced seme Tells the story of Akira, a young gay man who has decided to not fall in love with a straight man. However, he encounters Masaru who professes his love even thought he's straight. The story follows their relationship from their first encounter online... The art is rough but it does the job and I love how they maintain manly figures throughout. The sex scene wasn't explicit or anything, more shounen ai than anything, but it portrayed the feelings of the characters really well. Overall, even though the art style is kinda rough, I think this passes as fluffy. I love how the small gestures and expressions really portray what the characters feel for each other. The characters are absolutely adorable. Based on real life, I felt with them everything that happened. I'm glad this was shared, it made me realize how to maintain a long lasting relationship. Also, it made me think how lucky it is to be treasured and loved. The personalities really show through, and this is cutting edge realistic so it made me feel it deep in my heart. The relationship development.... Sigh. It was... Real. You know? Having been in long term relationships myself, I could really sympathize with the feelings of the characters. There's a slow burn in the beginning, and it builds up nicely. Of course, I can see how this was adjusted to fit a manga-like development into 5 chapters, but it was great. I wish them joyful times and long lasting memories! The plot was sincere and honest. When you like someone, even more so if you love them. You yearn and hope for them like Aki did in their 1 year break up. I didn't feel like Masu's feelings weren't a novelty or a exploration. He really did love Aki from the beginning but had shit going on in his life so things happened and they couldn't be together during that time. I'm glad Aki is an understanding, loving person who can treasure the love the Masu gives and doesn't judge him for his life circumstances. The plot was definitely cute, fluffy, fairytale-like. I ship them!
