The second couple was just awful. I'm grateful for the heads up from the scanlation team because had it not been there I would have expected a somewhat cute story following the previous one theme. Maybe the fix would be more Tsundere but that's it. I didn't expect for gore and a freaking Psycho for a seme. It was really weird because it felt like the author wanted a more dark theme but didn't fully commit to it so we get a first chapter of the seme being full on psycho, clearly showing signs of obsession and not love, only for him to have a wildly different tune the next one of just being a poor lonely god. The whole child thing was iffy as well. He mentions it's a "proof of their mutual love" about twice but then the entire time he talks about the process he talks about as if it's just a perk of being a god and needing a descendant. Not that feelings where needed. I'm not one to shy away from darker mangas, I've grown used to (for better or for worst) to non-con or delayed consent tropes. Some light BDSM, maybe scratches and butes. That is no issue for me. But FFS, this story was just bonkers. The main couple had their issues. There were instances were it felt written by some robot who learnt human emotions from the internet. But the extra was great to make them lovables and acceptables. The issue I have with delayed consent is that, if it has to be in the story, then I better be smothered in fluff and angst enough as to make it just a plot point. While main couple didn't fully got there, it got to a point where the couple made sense. But the second couple felt like a suckerpunch. After the somewhat cute story of destined lovers, we a psycho harming nad having possessive feelings towards another who actively refuses him even after having the "proof of their love". The seme seemed to have come out of a third rate manga trying to be psychological but not fully there while the Uke belonged to how the story was flowing. It could have had potential as two different stories in different books and if the author had committed to the psychological theme of the second couple. Side note: I could have done without the virginity allusions of the ukes bleeding in their first time with the seme. It was tacky at best

The story was all over the place. Several heavy factors were introduced only for them to be solved easily in a few episodes, while wasting episodes of Xia Cu essentially being a manga mum. The thing that bother me the more was Xia Xu being the classical FL of any manga/manhwa/manhua. It was jarring. Up to the latest episodes where he was shown to be on more equal footing to Li Bai. I hate it when one is more "traditionally feminine" like answering the question that no one should ask "who's the woman in the relationship?"

I tried three times to read this. I finally finished it. It was a struggle but I can't complain about it if I don't finish it. God, it was just so unnerving. The seme is trash. In the end you really don't get why Omi is obsessed with him. The trash treats him like an object and what's worst is the constant negging Ominis subjected to. The smex isn't even good enough to make this bearable. I don't think it's finished as it says in the end TBC and it ended quite enigmatically. I like this author's monster fuvkers mangas but I really struggle with the others. I find them either kinda meh or like this one, just getting angry at a fictional character
