I couldn't shake off the feeling that the author deliberately drew the character designs to imply shotacon (and that praising during sex just made it feel like having sex with a way-too-old adult, when he's supposed to be really childish and holding off on being an adult). Too bad, 'cause they had really interesting personalities and relationship dynamic.
