unknowing reader's manga / #cute(2)

vch13 ha... well, i liked this a lot. i really did. do. whatever. however, as the series went on, i kinda started losing steam. 1. the engagement scandal: it's ultimately a forgivable arc in jasper's case because his actions were justifiable but as a reader, it felt really unsatisfying to have them resolve it so easily. but sure, i got over it. 2. evil mother in law. this is really what made me annoyed. throughout the entire series, we get the characters acting corny but it's something i don't mind because it's often used as a joke and acknowledged to be something that's ridiculous and only happening because he's in a manga. the problem with this arc is that it's not treated that way. it's such a corny, ridiculous and eyeroll-inducing trope that offers nothing refreshing and interesting and to make things worse, it's being treated seriously and so i am forced to criticize it as i would any other seriously-handled storylines and man, it's such a groan fest. 3. things are so easily solved and brushed off yet things that don't matter get dwelled upon. i really really enjoyed this. the setting is awesome, the mc is tolerable, the ml is super fun to watch but it's just sad that the story and execution doesn't match in quality. let's see how it goes.

ITS PEAK... so far. i really like the art style and the choices made for paneling that feels clean and tidy but not boring. gritz is so handsome.
