I Met the Male Lead in Prison Webtoon
The Predatory Marriage Between the King and the Paladin
[read the mature version on bato] Honestly, I would give this a 3.5 rating but it really irks me how many 1-star votes are calling the FL names while y'all would be eating this up if there was a man in her position. Is she crazy? Yes. Obsessed? Yep. Coercive? I would say so. But tbh it's not really as bad as you make it be since the ml was always very into the sex, not in a "you're forcing me but it's pleasurable" way but more like "I also really wanna have sex with you but there are misunderstandings in our way". I think the angst in the backstory is quite well built (I hate misunderstandings but here they are reasonable, since they were both hiding stuff), but there's a lack of something else after everything is resolved. The whole story about the house was quite heartbreaking, I really enjoyed it.
Failed To Abandon The Villain
I had already read part of this and decided to reread bc I liked the fucked up dynamic between the FL and ML. And boy, was I grateful for it! Honestly I lived this. Valeta and Reinhardt are such flawed, broken individual and I really enjoyed seeing Valeta learn to heal from her trauma. The two dukes were such great characters, slowly becoming her father figure and letting her be vulnerable for the first time. The plot is interesting, the story of the king and his two friends was really well thought. And lastly... I love Reinhardt. He's such a psycho, but I can't help but cheer for him. Valeta is his entire world and he refuses to be interested in anything else; he follows her every word, he stays put and refrains from killing just bc that's what she wants. He's gorgeous and dressed so beautifully. I love him so so so much. Lastly, Valeta is (as her surname suggest) a delight. She's strong, cunning, so cold it's almost scary. She starts out with little emotions and then she learns, thanks to the dukes and other people showing her kindness. As a consequence she tries to help Reinhardt too: after seeing that version where he's untouchable and alone, with no real place in the world, she starts wanting him to see more than just her in his eyes. She wants his world to expand beyond his dear 'master'. All in all I definitely enjoyed this a lot. Greta characters, great dynamic, interesting story. If there's anything I feel is lacking it's some side characters: the boy and the prince disappeared at some point, despite being introduced as important to the story. Chap. 107 and DAMN when she pushed him down.... Awogaaaa Chap.109 was the last one and wow... I'm so happy for them. Valeta looking back and being proud for holding on, Reinhardt spending (a minimum amount of) time and power so that Therion can go back and forth... Just seeing them so happy is so sweet. I love them.
