i wanted to give this one 4* but then it just kept dragging on and on lol. the first half was super cute, great plot and flow, but the random kidnap scene gave wattpad 2012. especially with how the main couple hooked up for the first time right after. no trauma, no recovery, just kidnap to sex within the same hour. after that the story fell off a bit for me. felt like the author wanted to include so many different things, and instead of picking a few, just threw every idea ever in and rushed through each one. oh well.

kinda mid. we learn a lot about noah’s traumatic backstory, his history with mason, but then dont unpack it. his present character is also pretty bland and its hard to connect with him. haley/mason is likable, but i wish he was portrayed more rough around the edges. he doesnt come off as an ex mercenary. not a bad story, just lacking in depth. its an easy read with nice art.
