Yes, it is easier to heal another than to heal yourself. Ryouichi always thought he and Kanata were too alike..but never thought they would be alike here too? It was good, sad, and bittersweet. It is psychological. Yes, there is rape, abuse, trauma, love, sadness and friendship. But it's the psychological aspect. The two came together so closely as only they had the understanding of the darkness and heaviness of carrying the burden of being mentally tormented by the past, and hiding because they couldn't heal their minds. This manga messes with my mind, making me think....I wonder.... did Ryouichi heal his own mind by trying to help Kanata? Isn't more like he went deeper in his nightmares by letting fear overcome him with Kanata, and made the past become permanent scars deciding his future? Did Kanata heal his wounds because of Ryouichi's sacrifices and outward strength? Did Kanata wish he was stronger too and didn't freeze to tell Ryouichi how he felt? Does Ryouichi spend his life with regretting the "what if" or does he also hide from that? The peace they felt, the two could only speak of everything with each other, so why, Ryouichi, did you isolate yourself deeper? You became strong so others couldn't hurt you, and became weak and let you hurt yourself more.

I wonder if I indeed dance to Ogawa Chise. My soul felt like it was being pulled out through my feet, and my heart was clenching in desperation. Even when it hurts, Ogawa Chise is one of the rare authors I love. Less explicit, less taboo subject matters, and yet her writing becomes even more painful but happy to read. But I swear, it's like she's gotten darker, digging deeper, piercing harder. I felt like I was IN the manga. Maybe thats what the best stories do- take you to another world and return you differently.
Shingakkou - Noli Me Tangere
I really thought it was great. I didn't see how the yaoi was there until towards the end, but I do think it was something different and unique. It's psychological, intriguing, questions God and the Devil, Supernatural, .....and it's a sincere pure love that Unrobes the priest. It's a very interesting story that starts tragic, and that tragedy leads to love. Dont want to give too many spoilers! Strength of mind, will, strength of faith, strength of love.... they can be bad or good, couldn't they?
Yume Musubi, Koi Musubi
Such a great realistic-ish story about a straight priest and the young boy who he's looked out for 10 years. Suddenly, now 17, the always straight young boy, realizes he wants the Priest who's looked after him. It's a great, open-minded, non-cliched story, about a tsundere priest and a straightforward boy who have to learn what they really want and how to get and keep it. Who's the seme might be questionable, lol, but It's cute, sweet, dramatic, and a good read.
Haru wo Daite Ita
One of the best of the best. A series that can only be called a staple in the yaoi world, and even with all the yaoi since these early days, still remains one of the best and well done. And the best switch couple. It now has a sequel. From the AV world, the Showbiz world, the becoming gay world, and the adult / mature relationships, this manga covers so many genres it feels like it has stopped being a story, and is a reality show we are watching about these two characters relationship.
Innocent Bird
would have given it a 5 if it wasn't for he abrupt ending but still beautiful. about an angel who comes down from heaven to make a demon go back to hell. The demon has become a priest, swore never to use his power and has a deep love for god. he believes god will forgive his sins, because god loves all. an angel sent to make him return sees him, and they fall for each other. a battle between heaven and hell ensues, as do questions of what god wants, are gods orders to the angels all that matter, doesn't god want everyone to love each other? beautiful with an interesting plot twist.
