The Monster Duchess and Contract Princess
I was going to wait to write my small review for this until I finished reading but honestly I’ve fallen in love with it. I really appreciate the familial aspect of this story and while not new, is executed beautifully. The FL has strong character and continues with her beliefs and learns from her mistakes. It’s refreshing to see a FL who isn’t perfect at everything and shows some character growth along the way. The supporting characters are also detailed and all of the ones introduced so far further the story as a whole and aren’t there for comedic relief or for trivial reasons. The story itself is written very well with no plot holes to my understanding and also interesting enough to stand out in an over saturated genre. Hopefully this story continues and doesn’t turn into just another noble love story.
A Stepmother's Märchen
One of my all time favorite reads, this is truly a gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Even if you read it for just the art, I feel like there's is something to love about this piece. Our MC is truly trying her best, but in her first life just lacked the right tools and parenting skills for her true feelings to come across in that lifetime. Because of a tragedy, she was able to right the wrongs of the past and carefully raise the children of the household and even become like a true family. I love that this story doesn't need a ML to have a solid storyline and that this isn't about finding love necessarily. It's about the complicated relationships of what family could've been back in that time period. It wasn't too out there to sometimes have a stepmother who is similar in age to the oldest child of that family. And from there starts the complicated life of these characters as they work out how to love one another and have a healthy family relationship.
Tensei Shite Inaka de slowlife wo Okuritai
I dropped this because I was having a really hard time for how the family was treating the MC. The use of comedic relief in the form of abuse towards someone these people are supposed to see as family isn't appealing in the slightest.
Lady Baby
I used to really love this comic. As the story progresses I found that I lost interest the more the plot developed and took a turn that I didn’t expect. It’s a shame because the characters themselves are well written as well as the initial plot line. I was so invested in this and then it started to focus too much on one aspect of her abilities and lost sight of the end goal it seems.
