So. I want to love this lol it has some great things, 1980s setting and aesthetics, good gay community rep, sweet characters, but lost me in the last like 20 chapters. It got im gonna say it. Got really pearl boy lol. The drama and trauma was stupid. The timeskip was way too long and didnt make sense, it got me in the end because to see a queer person take their life back and take hold is always nice. But it wasnt as satisfying as it should have been. It also was still wayy too drama, last side story was just porn and they didnt resolve the dad stuff, didnt resolve the other characters they had introduced. It felt so rushed. I loved it at first but no lol. Its a no unfortunately for like the whole second half. Loved the migraine rep lol. Tw for violence, blood, one non con scene, homophobia, pressure, domestic abuse, generally this isnt super dark but I wouldnt read at night. I dont think id reread this at all. Alright ok. So! I really actually loved this wayyy more than I thought I would. Art is ok sometimes, its an older style I generally hate lol. Its about a rental bf (now real bf) and a rich older man in a wheelchair. Really good rep and talk around caretaking in relationships, disabled people being pityed, and physical disability. Tw in this series for talks of suicide, some family drama stuff later on and a kidnapping got a little too drama, some attempted non con not by mc, and incest between uncle and nephew. The older guy did know it was his nephew the whole time, the younger one did not. Honestly the most real talks about incest and its real world implications ive ever seen. They said im already gay better do something else crazy too im like PFFT. I honestly really liked this, the writing held it generally so well. The time to reflect and process and the way the mc younger guy is so slay like he just knows. Lots of family drama at the end which I didnt like but anyway I do like this a lot. Incest is not a main point and doesnt come up until way later, although it is happening so tw for that. No smut either.
