I feel bad that they never got to "consummate" their love, but it was pretty much their own fault. You can't tell me that rich people don't have locks on their bedroom doors, that they don't train their staff to knock before entering their private rooms, that an older brother can't tell his younger brother to stop busting into his room whenever he pleases or that a blackout can stop you from having sex. Light is not really necessary in that situation and there are such things as candles.
