[♡♡♡] The Eyes of Sora (Manhwa)(A wealthy businessman goes to an isolated mountain to seek help from the shamens and Buddhist priests but a rumor says that if a child meets you on the mountain you are in grave danger and at death's door which is the case for his sickly and temperamental son but the young prodigy boy that meets him offers to help hid son and signs a contract to protect the son till adulthood)(plot driven and supernatural and complex characters, so deep that it's hard to understand)
Warehouse
[️️️] The Warehouse (Manhwa)(working as a cell phone seller, trying to make ends meet with a horrible boss, a man is tired of his life as he often reminisces about his fun high school days, until one day in an ally, having a smoke, someone comes to knock him out, as he wakes up he realises that he’s been tied up and locked in a gym warehouse by a scarred man who takes advantage of his body and continuously asks that he try to remember his past in detail, but he can’t seem to recall anything with any detail, from his friend’s faces to who his kidnapper is, he can’t remember at all)( the story is a suspense thriller, set in a warehouse that is to replicate a specific warehouse from their past, the characters were built on flaws and many mistakes, the uke who had a rough childhood and decided that no one would ever stay in his life so thus it is better to let go those who will leave, this included his relationships and friendships, and even to the one person who genuinely cared for him, he thought that they would stay together yet once he realised that his friend too would leave, he begins to distance himself and often relay on manipulating or gaslighting him, while the seme was stuck in the past and obsessed with the uke, he felt that the uke was his reason to live which was translated into the revenge he plotted, for if he felt the suffering from his past and the hatred he feels then he would have the uke feel it too although the uke had no recollection of their past at all, this the seme would force and push on the uke to experience his pain but would fall back if the uke was to get wounded, the seme was so tied to his past that he could he go without rewritten his high school diary that had all their past interaction recorded as it often centred around the uke and the uke’s behaviour or attitude that day, and if he lost the diary he would go into a frenzy to rewrite it, so even though the seme goes through the length of kidnapping the uke, his revenge was at core just his obsession with the uke and to find him again, the story delivers both the characters backstory in pieces to fit together as the story in the present progresses with suspense and the thrill of danger, not only from the seme’s actions but also from others outside the warehouse, towards the end it becomes obvious that both characters were wronged and righted in their own sense but the deciding factor to their relationship was that they loved each other so much that they wouldn’t be able to live without the other, this relates to that fact that what they both did to each other was hurtful and they know they’ll fight about it more in the future, still they decide that they could go back to being as they were when they were happily together in high school, The destructive character of both, and how they were willing to be a better person for each other, amazed me that I can't ask for more. Neither of them are right nor wrong, but both were at fault so I'm glad they both wanted to own up to their mistakes, although I did get quite confused in the characters own moral thoughts, it was a good read and even better if I had understood more, which might be possible if I do read it again) 9th August, 2024
