meh. the current arc with her being a volunteer is getting really boring. i’d rather see her deal with her sister rather than priestess rebecca. also, i feel like it would be better if she stayed to scope out different potential husbands like she said rather than sticking to that one guy.

people who want her to end up with astor are boring and have never experienced the joy of a boy/girl friendship. tbh i find the crown prince’s relationship with her to be so funny. if only he wasn’t a piece of garbage to her brother. i hope glenn is the ML and not her brother...

interesting in that the FL’s bully transmigrates too but other than that, really average.

i saw the novel around but didn’t look too much into it. young girl who wants to be a pharmacist and is a little too passionate about poisons works in the imperial palace. all the characters are interesting, there are male/female friendships, solid female friendships, and a lot of mysteries to solve. most of the mysteries are easy to follow, and i don’t mean that in a “they’re predictable and boring” way, but you can figure out the gist of the situation while they’re laying out the evidence for other people, you know? in most mysteries, you don’t really get what’s happening until they fully explain it to their audience (at least, in my experience. they’re showing off their discoveries but they keep adding new ones they investigated off screen and you’re like “ohh okay. when did that happen?”) but in this manga, as you see them uncover pieces of the truth, you can figure it out with the characters. like i could understand that jinshi was a prince, but i didn’t know he was the emperor’s son until a later chapter. a lot of things are connected and it’s amazing. mao mao best girl.

it would be so much better without the crown prince. he irritates me so much.

there are really good female centered friendships, fun believable romance, scenes of friends just hanging out, the side characters get some focus sometimes, and most misunderstandings don’t draw out too long. also, even if the ML and FL end up together, they still have a solid friendship. it’s good. i kinda wish corey beat the shit out of sam herself but she wasn’t able to overpower everyone with her sister on the line so... i wasn’t really satisfied with the ending but i’m gonna let it slide because the rest of it was so good.
