Masataka is the is the chief priest and caretaker at the shrine for God's spirit servants, lead by the 12 zodiac animals. Any animal that is one of God's servants can relax at the shine, but cats have never been welcomed. When Kotarou and the cat possessing him, Koma, show up to the shrine needing a place to stay after their own shrine burned down, Masataka, a cat lover, is happy to help them out. Though some of the zodiac animals need convincing.

After being assigned as a department head in his company, Nagasu has started to be harassed by the director, but is unable to quit due to debt.
