Discontinued by Publisher After his father's death, Yukimura is kicked out of his house for being the son of a mistress. With nowhere to go, Yukimura applies to get a job for serving tables at a resort, but instead of the fancy hotel restaurant he was thinking of, he becomes a nakai at a ryokan. He is trained by the strict and competent Ayukawa, who like all the other nakais, seems to have a story.

Discontinued One day, punk boy Yoh is protected by B-boy Makino while on a crowded train, though Makino is actually protecting others from Yoh's spiky hair. They meet again later when Makino shows up to tell Yoh that Makino picked up Yoh's precious stone he unknowingly lost on the train. After Makino won't give it back, Yoh ends up at his house where Makino asks if Yoh remembers him and learns Makino has a stone matching Yoh's.

Brothers Hyou and Setsu have been living together after running away from their violent father. Hyou has always pprotected Setsu, who introverted and airheaded. However, since living together, Hyou has been abusing Setsu when he gets irritated, but Setsu is happy to take the abuse.
