Jin has always loved cute and filly things, but is bullied due to his girlish taste. Jin's only friend since childhood is Suzume, a sparrow he saved that seems to understand human speech. One day, Jin is surrounded by a group of scary individuals, but the boy in the middle asks to be his friend, vowing to protect him. Later, when Jin is locked in the storage shed by his bullies, he is saved by the boy and his friends and learns they are friends with Suzume, but the boy's name is also Suzume.

In this land, exist a humanesque bird called a Zhen that have beautifully vibrant wings due to their preference for poisonous foods. The strength of their poison is equivalent to the Zhen's pride. Fei, a military general, is raising the most beautiful Zhen Caihong, who is the last Zhen his older brother Ran raised and the Zhen that killed him.

Ch. 1-4: Bird tengu Ouki saves injured dog tengu Kuro, who refuses to show Ouki his human form. One day, afraid of his attraction to and his nature as a harbinger of calamity, Kuro leaves Ouki. Miserable with Kuro gone, Ouki goes to look for him, but collapses and is saved by Kuro. While together, Kuro is enthralled by Ouki's scent and the two are finally able to share their love for each other. Ch. 5: After his parents moved overseas, clumsy Mariku has been living with his dependable cousin Riku. However while Mariku is trying to hide his feelings for Riku, Riku suddenly kisses Mariku in his sleep. Ch. 6: While in the middle of a heartbreak trip at a ryokan, Yuuhi is suddenly joined by broke backpacker Noboru, who repays the favor by acting as Yuuhi's lover.

After being assigned as a department head in his company, Nagasu has started to be harassed by the director, but is unable to quit due to debt. While escaping from the director one day, Nagasu happens upon a pet shop cafe. He immediately meets, and saves, the shop's owner Judo, a mysterious man who sells a variety of unique pets that always seem to perfectly match the customer's desires.

Ch. 1-5,11-12: After being assigned as the president's 2nd secretary 3 weeks ago, Kazusa has yet to meet him and, with the office bullying, he's thinking about quitting. While on the office roof, Kazusa meets a white snake that he offers sake and vents to. However, the snake turns out to be President Kusanagi, a snake god who wants to make Kazusa his wife and have him birth his children. Ch. 6-7: Blind human Rin is sacrificed by his village to the owl mountain god Shirogane Ch. 8: Since he is always bitten during sex, a man tries to find somewhere to bite his iron-skinned partner Ch. 9: Doctor lovers talk about colds Ch. 10: When Ichiya wants to go drinking with a client, his non-drinking lover, the department director, punishes him until he agrees not to drink in front of others
