After the last surviving Japanese wolf couple dies in an accident, their son, 5 year old Riku, is taken by social worker Iori to live in a small town with author Goura, the only other living Japanese wolf, to learn to live as a wolf. Iori, a gay man, immediately finds himself attracted to Goura and is surprised when Goura comes on to him. However, Goura says he's joking right after because, despite his feelings for Iori, Goura doesn't want to get involved with a human.
