Walk on Water
Yapping... Jaxx truly has to be one of the most talented people to ever step foot on this planet because my ass fucked this shit up 10 times already. Everything about this is beautiful: the writing, the art style, the progression of the story, the main characters, hell, even the side characters get the spotlight. The way they're written makes it impossible to forget them, and even now I remember all of their names. Ryan, for example, has been done so much justice. His character development, just like Ed and Creed's, is perfectly executed. It's shocking how well Jaxx wrote them in under 70 chapters, because many of the stories that I've read failed to achieve this level of writing in such little time. What I think really helped was the fact that their personalities, interests, motivations, and goals were all uncovered and explored throughout the story. This helps the reader understand what type of people they are, and gives them a foundation to make judgements based on, and how far they've come since the first chapter. This type of development makes the ending really stick to a person. It also made Chang and Ed's relationship, in particular, ruin me. I couldn't take the torture Ed had to go through after suffering at his hands for years. It was disgusting, but served as a clear reminder of how vile and far-gone Chang is. He is, and he was always undeserving of Ed's love and gratefulness for him. "Every moment with you feels like a miracle, like I'm walking on water" - Creed I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS MASTERPIECE
