Toumei na Ai no Utsuwa
Simply beautiful and well done. Emotional in a non traumatic way which was refreshing. It’s so nice to feel good and complete at the end of a story. Great Starter BL for friends!
Utsukushii Tamashii
Ooofff my first heartbreak of an incomplete manga. The rest I could manage but this one hurt cause it was so good! Such a touching story about the different disadvantages we experience.
Dousei Yankee Akamatsu Seven
One of the most original stories I’ve read…tragic at some points, really sad at others. It really…doesn’t read as a BL, the story is so beyond that so the romance aspect is there but not front and center. It’s definitely not lovey-dovey but I was intrigued the whole time. 10/10 for whatever genre of BL this is!
Walk on Water
What.a.ride. Truly. The first half of it was deliciously top tier making the characters and plot incredibly intriguing. The angst, the tensionnn, the SEXINESS. Absolutely scrumptious. It fell off in the second half though and things started to feel disjointed and inconsistent. The relationships didn’t progress very well and things that needed to be said never made it out into the open causing a more shallow and less satisfying ending than I would have hoped for. Can’t rate it a 4 because the story was excellent just the execution in the later half wasn’t the best.
Midnight Rain (CTK)
Yes! Very very very very rewarding and cute. Just a polite and wholesome read about two broken people coming together. I really enjoyed this one!
Loss Time ni Hanamuke o
So heartbreaking and SO good. Ugh! Relationships are difficult and overwhelming and this story did such a good job of tracing where things went wrong. Thankfully they were willing to improve together but I just loved how it showed their emotions. Loved it!!
Kekkon Suru Kamoshirenai Otoko
Loveddd ittt. It’s always nice to see realism in BL content because most stories live in this la-la land where others don’t mind two men being together but this one showed such a soft way of facing that fear. And for those screaming biphobia, I get it but it’s more important to look at the bigger picture between the characters. Both were abandoned by people they should have been able to trust…it wasn’t focused just on sexuality but the societal pressure people can fall into while hurting others (the MC’d bf leaving him for a woman or the ML’s parents leaving him). The story was healing for both of them, to be able to fully trust the person you’re with. That they want what you want and are fully willing to face the world even if it’s in an unconventional way w/ extra challenges! Very cute story.
Nichijou Climax
Supperrrr cute. I love mangas about couples that are already established! Their misunderstandings were sincere and they clearly love each other. Sometimes the MC’s insecurities felt unnecessary & I feel like our super hyper ML was constantly under a lot of pressure but they worked things out in their own way.
