THIS IS SO GOOOOOOOOD. The “villains” have their traumatic/tragic upbringings brought up as a way to explain why they acted the way they did, but our MC is so intelligent AND kind that she picks apart their traumas and makes them sound- pitiful but not evil. Also- FUCK the prince/emperor/guard theyre gross men. I hope she ends up w the empress, or one of the other AMAZINGLY COMPETENT ladies she has by her side.

no queer baiting? like on first glance it’s “oh god it’s queer baiting” but actually its known that Liz is a female, but the knights she interacts with and trains, treat her like she should be treated (with RESPECT). None of the cadets/knights are misogynistic, that we’ve seen, and that’s SO FUCKING RARE IN MANGA. Like fr why do so many “female knight” manga/manha/manhua/webcomic/etc make female knights out to he “strong but doubted by anyone they meet for the first time” like bro i get this is a fantasy world with old school social concepts, but as an author YOU CAN CHOOSE WHAT SOCIAL ISSUES YOUR WORLD HAS. women in our world are consistently ignored/doubted/harassed/etc for just existing. Authors shouldn’t have to have include misogyny as a reason for the ML(s) to be like “oH wOw ThIs WoMaN iS sTrOnG” like shut the fuck up. don’t make a very real, very important social concept into a plot device AND ONLY a plot device. A world where accomplishments are treated with fucking respect no matter what your identity is brilliant.

AAAAA this was cliched in all the best ways. their romance was so cute! spoilers: however.. Leraze(?) should’ve been imprisoned for poisoning the king, if she was willing to go THAT far why are they shocked she manipulated someone else? but, she was a noble lady with considerable status so it’s no surprise she was banished and not imprisoned. still. part of me wishes she would just, get the FUCK OVER HERSELF. but she missed that chance, RIP red-haired lady
