This started out a little sus but ended up being very sweet. I’m glad they didn’t have penetrative sex until they were actually dating. Just once thought I’d like it if the guy being blackmailed wasn’t the one getting fucked.

THIS WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. I love the art, the story was interesting and not just a catalyst for fucking, the dynamics between Dex and the team and his family were hilarious. Sloane and Dex are both HOT AF, and they are two gay men who are out and confident in their sexuality - no denial or internalized homophobia or existential crisis here. I adore a hybrid human/beast story and this was a great one. The pacing was great, though the ending did seem rushed - I think iit would've been absolutely perfect with another 3-5 chapters to resolve everything. I know this is based on a book and there are like 10 in the series - I definitely want to check them out, though I would rather have more comic adaptations like this because the art was so good and it was so much fun to read. Dex is such a great character - he's competent and badass and good at his job, secure in his self-worth, able to communicate his feelings, and has zero shame about his sexuality. He can be serious when he needs to be but his personality is such a breath of fresh air - his banter with everyone is amazing, but especially Sloane. Sloane seems like the usual big grumpy guy at first, but he's not - not only is he still dealing with the murder of his partner/boyfriend, he clearly has a traumatic backstory and did not receive the love and support of a family when he was growing up. But even with all that weighing him down, he grew into a good person who doesn't take his pain out on other people. He cares deeply for the people close to him and as much as he tries to push Dex away, Dex won't let him - without being aggressive or manipulative, just being there and providing support. It's exactly what Sloane needs. Their chemistry is INSANE, easily some of the hottest I've read - there's clearly an initial attraction but they actually get to know each other as partners and that's where the feelings develop. I also love so much that their first physical encounter was frotting and not jumping straight to anal in a parking garage. AND ALL THE SEX WAS SO HOT AND SO INTIMATE AND UNCENSORED AND WILDLY, ENTHUSIASTICALLY CONSENSUAL. There was nothing to feel icky about!!! You know it's good when they can laugh during sex. Dex is such a power bottom and I fucking love to see it. He wants that D and he will get it. Ugh I loved this so much. I'll definitely revisit it and hope for more.

This was actually incredibly nice?? Damn. A non-creepy student/teacher relationship- because it WASN’T one, Rocco acknowledged Liam’s feelings and even returned them, but he put that aside because Liam was 18 and naive and he was a grown ass adult who knows right from wrong. And years later, when Liam has become an adult with experience under his belt and still comes back to reaffirm his feelings, Rocco can enter that relationship with a clear conscience. There was NO sexual assault in this, there was actual communication, a second love interest i actually felt for - Julien was brave and sweet and in any other scenario they would have made a great couple. It sucked but I also respect Liam for knowing that julien deserved better than a boyfriend who’s heart will always lie elsewhere. AND STEFANIE MY QUEEN, I love their friendship so much. It rings true honestly, and I adore that this time the fake relationship is mutually; beneficial and based in friendship - no one is being strung along or lied to. She’s fucking hilarious and I love her/ I definitely did not expect this to be so good and healthy. I don’t know why it doesn’t have a higher rating.

This was beautiful and perfect, green flags as far as the eye can see. Communication, respect, self-awareness, open affection, extremely hot and intimate sex that both people were VERY into. More of this please god, this is the yaoi I want.

Hmm. For the most part I really liked this - it was by turns hilarious and emotional. I did think it ended kind of abruptly but that’s really my only complaint. I like that the boss was supportive and not a homophobic shithead.
