Cat_lover's manga / #Demons(2)

Konya mo Nemurenai

Complete | yamamoto kotetsuko | 2011 released

OMG!!! This was sooo funny and adorable. I truly love the characters!!! They are all really attractive and have very interesting personalities. I really do wish that the manga could have included more 'after they got together' scenes, though.

Demons Can't Be Pretty

Complete | Coolchic | 2000 released

THIS DOES CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS sorry :( I absolutely loved this story!!! I cannot believe it is over!!! First of all, let's go over the plot! The story has an interesting idea behind it that I loved!! I will admit that I did not particularly like the way it ended. I felt that it was not the most fitting for Beelzebub to go towards becoming a scientist since he was tortured by his mother. I mean, it is true that it is only a dream and that doesn't necessarily mean that that will happen. There is a chance that he went toward it because he wanted to find out why his mother was so infatuated with it. Anywhooo, I Also wasn't the happiest with how the author went on to make the last boss(?) I felt like he or she (or whatever they may have been I didn't pay all that much attention as to what they were) was only put there to assert that Satan was perfectly fine with what he was and not truly finding out. He was just happy being normal or at least his own version of normal. I just felt like that arc was a bit lacking, though. It could have just been because it was so quick to come in and then leave to immediately lead to the ending of the story. There was another section that got me a tad bit, which was when Beel turned into an agel. I was curious as to what would have happened or if there was a way to reverse it. I don't know I was just a bit curious (this part did not make me lower the rating. I just wanted to mentioned that I felt like it would have been nice to delve further into it). As I have hinted, I didn't really like the pacing at the end of the story, but other than that section, I loved the pacing! It was perfect (other than the ending)!!! I was perfectly satisfied with the ending as it was fitting for Satan's character. From the beginning, he never cared about being different----No!! He cared about living like everyone else, and now he was happy because he got himself some friends and can do things just like everyone else. Character development wise, I thought this story did quite a good job. I loved when we were able to see the inner-turmoil that Satan was going through when he had his existential-crisis. Seeing how he thought he was like evryone to learning he was some sort of mishmash of different things to trying to figure out who he really was---what he really was to just being happy with what he has now and being satisfied with just being himself and defining himself (and not others defining him).
