A story on friendship, love and hardships. The world is not always just, it's not for everyone, but for some it seems more difficult and unfair than for others. In this manga we have to confront this sad reality, but with the help of the two main characters we see how friendship can definitely help make it a better place. The slow pace and the characters development give this manga a heartwarming feeling while still serving us a plate of drama to make the storyline always interesting to read.

This is probably the best manga I have ever read! It's a story about a boy who has supernatural abilities (he can see what other humans can't see...Yokais) that make his ordinary life more than a bit complicated. He lives together with some distant relatives that take care of him when nobody wanted to, His only link to the past is a "book of friends" that used to belong to his grandmother Reiko (she used to have the same supernatural abilities), a notebook filled with names of yokais. With every chapter we see a different day or moment in the life of Natsume Takashi and how he learns to accept himself, his powers and the strange relationships that he builds with yokais and humans. Its practically a diary, a journay... we follow him as he grows, as he learns, as he changes. It can be dramatic, adventurous, sad and happy. Every chapter is sure to give you a different emotion, that's why I find it very special and unique. It's one of my favorites, i will probably treasure it in my heart forever. P.s Takashi has a super fat cat as a guardian (a Yokai as well of course), and that is very cute!

I have no words to describe the beauty of this manga. It's really a piece of art. A manga that tells the struggle of humans deemed different by the standards of society, in a constant fight for acceptance and desperately trying to find a place to fit in, and call their home. A manga about hope and heartbreak. While reading it you are able to feel the sadness, the desperation, the anger and the happiness of those beautiful drawn characters and live their stories with them. It's just like a window to their life. This manga for me deserves 100 stars, if not more.
