I absolutely adore this series. It is definitely in contention for my favorite series of all time, and I don’t say that lightly. I would give this 6 stars if I could. The plot and character development is probably the best and most satisfying I have seen in a manga/manhua, ever. The author clearly spent so much time developing the characters and figuring out how to resolve the trauma and issues they had that were preventing them from loving each other fully and without reservations. I don’t know that I have seen another author pull off a long and satisfying story arc quite like this. Dojin and Taehee in this first season did not prepare me for Yeonwu and Taewhan in the second season, they honestly feel like two different comics. But the second couple ended up being the more juicy and engaging one, with an emotional arc that made me hate one of them and then do a complete 180. It’s remarkable how the author showed the character growth and resolution of trauma and anger in a way that was relatable and understandable without forgiving the hurt that was caused. Excellent story, please go read it on Tapas if you can, you won’t be disappointed.

I really liked this one. The plot is super intriguing and made me want to keep reading, really hooked me with how they would end up together and overcome the beast and hunter problem. I thought it was done pretty well and liked how the romance was handled. My only note is that we never really address the fact that one of them has a a job that is just murdering people. Yes they are people who look like beasts but like they are fully sentient people who he cuts in half with a sword. And the narrative clearly establishes that they are people and then just sort of doesn’t deal with that fact on a larger scale. I mean he like still has the same murder job at the end. The violence is a bit over the top and contributes to a bit of a tone problem between the bloody action scenes and the cute and sweet romance scenes.
