It got boring quickly imo. There's a fine line between slow burn that's getting hotter and hotter and slow burn that goes from buildup to ashes so quick you didn't even realize it. I like the general idea of someone looking for retribution and trying to break into a toxic industry just to be able to avenge a loved one, but the execution is rather weak. Some rape-y top is trying to get into the MC's pants while it's not so clear as to what he likes about him, apart from his 'special eyes'. The special gaze does not translate AT ALL cause the art style doesn't show it. Sure, they had a past, but the top couldn't even see bottom's eyes cause of the bunny mask anyways, so how can this sudden connection between them be explained? Bonus points for the top being the kind of hardcore daddy with a soft, sleepy side. This is a nice touch. Then there's the fact the MC thinks his mom died because of him. Sure, he has a connection to the brother's death, but what does it have to do with the mom? He paid the medical bills, right? He's supposed to be this apathetic, cold person, and yet, he wants revenge so bad. Sometimes, the MC doesn't make any sense, but maybe that's art that imitates life. People are often times contradictory. Also, I don't like the sexual tension between the characters, cause it's all too sudden and the top forces himself onto the main char. Just because the characters go from roasting each other to kissing passionately, it doesn't make it a slow burn. It's just many chapters of talking shit to each other and then all of a sudden, the top has a hard on...? And don't get me started on sexually harassing the main char. Overall forgettable story with some nice moments. Hot and steamy sex around chapters 79-80, some good writing, and nice art style apart from that missing 'special' gaze. Basically, your average YAOI story.
