Who Can Define Popularity?
Definitely a gem. Went into this manwha without expecting much since I just found the premise sort of funny when I read it but it ended up being one of my favourite bl’s I’ve read in the past year. The characters are super engaging and likeable and the slow burn is super worth it. I fully recommend. Id rate it a 9/10 no doubt.
The Best Smell
Not much to say about this one. It’s just pure wholesome fluff that will brighten your mood. I recommend it. 7/10
kiss on the piano
Read this manhua as a friend recommended it because of the ending but the story was honestly so eh and the characters were very stereotypical Bl protagonists to the point where I couldn’t care for them at all. This lead to be ultimately dropping it. 3/10
Love Tractor
Wow this was a rlly wholesome cute read. It was great but honestly I couldn’t get myself to really enjoy it for some reason. I guess I was just never that invested in the story or characters but I do recommend this as it was an enjoyable read overall. 6/10
Take care of my housekeeper
Not much to say about this one. It was average at best, boring at worst. 6/10
Stare down!
Read the actual thing on webtoon and it’s adorable, the characters are neat and the story is pretty basic but not bad. The chapters are short so it’s a nice binge. 7/10
Oh! My Assistant Webtoon
Saw this on a random article of like the “top 7 manhua to binge read” or something like that. Pretty good and I liked it to a pretty good extent but that best friend arc was so annoying. I rlly dislike love triangles in Bl. 7/10
Just Like You
Pretty cute but when it became a yaoi in its second season it was pretty lacklustre and just became your typical smut yaoi. Legit all smut, no character development. The characters also just become more unlikeable. 4/10
Love Gym
Honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. I got this from a friend who got an add for it on instagram reels and we thought the trailer was funny so I decided to give it a read. I knew it was going to be probably mediocre at best and have a lot of smut (which it definitely does.) but it was pretty wholesome and I liked that the start of the story was more about the main character having to move on after his best friend (his crush) was getting married with his girlfriend. And they don’t let misunderstandings go for long periods of time since their communication pretty great (compared to a lot of other bl’s at least.) of course I have stuff I dislike about the story but it’s mostly small things, of course the main one being that it has wayyyyy too many sex scenes. Legit the first time they do it went on for 5 CHAPTERS. Ik that they do that so the comic gets higher ratings since people are down bad but it’s still annoying to see, also a small gripe I have with it is just personal preference and wasn’t actually that bad but I didn’t like how fast paced it was. I wished that they atleast wouldn’t goddamn do it until they started their relationship but yeah nope, did it right after their first “date”. I mostly read shounen ai slow burns because it leaves you with the satisfaction of seeing the couple get together so I usually don’t care much about the development of couples when they get together in around 30 chapters or less. But yeah it’s not that bad and honestly the pacing is pretty good so it’s just a small gripe. I’ll continue to read this and right now the main couple is actually engaged while they also introduced the second couple (which is the male leads first love/ childhood friend and the main characters gay friend.) Edit: It legit just ended the first time I saw an update for the manhua it ends. It was a decent ending with a short time skip. But yeah a single chapter can’t change my opinions on anything.
