from what i understand zhenya has no redemption arc and is a crazy bastard that eventually mellows out the slightest tad. the first time i found out i was devastated lol bc one person basically strong-arms the other into an arrangement where he could indulge in his dark obsessions and the other basically is mind broken (sucking it up bc he's tired of trying, isn't that basically what it is?). it was already looking bad but the cliche part of me wanted them to somehow develop romantic feelings for each other and be an actual legit couple but it was really never gonna work out.

you don't ask questions about the world in this one and just take it in stride. i honestly want to see the older bro getting railed but unfortunately there's an actual plot that might have to play out....

this is so good. the author did a really good job at giving the readers a glimpse into heeseo so even if his actions are unhinged they're not coming from a de facto psychopath stance like so many other stories. it also has an actual plot. it's a mystery!

heewong is aggressive af and i sort of love it. sure he's doing a lot of the legwork but otoh i feel bad for hongyun, it sucks to be liked just for being hot. the dialogue isn't going to be winning any groundbreaking awards and i'm wondering if some parts for some chapters got cut off. but there's enough to keep me going bc it's just so uncommon seeing the uke be confident, masculine, and the chaser that not only organizes but executes since those attributes are so tightly conflated with semes.

lay is a nougat: tough on the outside, soft and mallowy on the inside. there's a part of me that wishes he was just a hardass who slowly falls for alex. his much sadder backstory sort of comes along with the abused-exploited-uke package which skews him as a more typical uke for me. he also seems to be in a really bad place to put himself in such low regard and to so easily latch onto the idea of alex and his affections--which seems superficial and savior complex-like? anyways maybe i remembered everything wrong and i'll re-noodle in the future
