This is like. So weird. Such a wild fucking ride. Like, Kai starts out super annoying, possessive, abusive (mentally AND physically, what with the rape/assaults and the guilt tripping) and just straight up delirious. But then, by the time his house catches on fire and he starts living with Miki he just? Does a 180? He is suddenly not horny 24/7 and crazy to the point he will assault Miki, is just generally super cute (which, seen how he was previously is like. what.), and Miki starts to give off signs he does like Kai back...? Which is like. So fucking weird. Did the shock of his house burning down really impact Kai so much? Even if he reacted to it for about like 2 pages then it was never discussed again? Because that is the only event I can see separating rapist and borderline manipulative Kai to loving and caring Kai. He does do some very ambiguous stuff with his plan of going out with other people only to make Miki jealous but Miki had already cut off their relationship so like, technically there's nothing avertly malicious in that (except maybe the fact he was too confident going about it). Which is so fucking strange to me, because just when did he have a change of heart? Where we given Stockholm-tinted glasses to see through? I am so disturbed and feeling so out of place. Because this dude starts off like if the standard reddit Nice Guy with how confident in himself he is, minus the insults because he is so inside his own fucking head he can't even see he's been rejected 50 different times.
