Every character is carved out very well and non-cliched. Even villains are realistic and isn't the typical cliche type. Bulky uke who can take the lead is something we stan in this house. A story about a horrendously sexual curse(ngl, I definitely HATE the curse. I mean, usually, it's tolerable but damn, this is different) and a divine beast helping the fierce prince to undo the curse. The whole thing is quite adventurous. So, yeah, a good way to slowly slip out of the usual yaoi patterns.
