Oreshika Shiranai Karada
A guy in love with his high school classmate asks him to sleep together. Thus starts the beginning of a sex-friends relationship, with the guy with feelings constantly second-guessing and unsure of the relationship that he has with the guy he is in love with but is not in love with him. Points for having an HEA, but I don't like the thesis of this manga and others like it, which reads: devotion and insecurity and reaction can get you someone you "want." No, because that's also the logic that stalkers use. ~Chapter 6
Golden Sparkle
Seme is dumb, uke is for the win over here. The seme tried to throw away their relationship after half-heartedly getting into a physical contract with the uke, but the uke stuck to his wants and the strength of his desire. He was both such an open character as well as a person who knew what he wanted unlike the dumb seme. The seme could have been a nice person, and I understand why they got together, but he's a coward. The uke is pure gold, (perhaps a pun intended?) and really the strength and rock of the relationship. Honestly, the seme needs to work on himself to really be with someone as mature as the uke. That guy's too good for you and your cowardly moves, seme. Summary: Mc doesn't want to be surrounded by girls, given his background of having his mom and sister (both are sweethearts) and the reality of 'carnivorous' women who he (as a hottie) has grown up around his entire adolescent life. He decides to go to an all male high school, where he hits it off with one of the freshman (the tendon to his boke -- they become a duo basically the first day of school). This kid is surprised when the mc doesn't really understand sex -- or specifically fapping, or porn/sexuality/hyper-sexualized culture that many boys are a part of. Mc's dad is away and didn't teach him about any of this stuff, and so that friend, taking advantage of the lack of knowledge the mc has, invites him to his room. He ends up jerking him off, and that's the start of their physical relationship. Mc is still confused as to what's normal regarding sexuality between people, and starts to realize that perhaps their relationship isn't so normal in the eyes of society. Friend becomes a chicken and starts to cruelly reject the mc at every turn, until the mc tricks him into talking and then forcibly confronts said chicken friend's true feelings. ~ Chapter 6 (extra)
Burns
I agree with the last two comments about this manga. The level of clarity the uke has about how psycho the seme is is fantastic (because the character has clarity, not because he’s the uke), and his way of getting under the seme’s skin was perfect because of his perfect analysis. I really thought the seme was going to lock the uke inside his house. Unfortunately, can’t say that’s never happened in a yaoi manga. ~Chapter 5
Naked Sword and the Tree Peony of Black
Kuroi-kun (yakuza extraordinaire) and his best on-and-off-again professed lover/friend Shirakaba (straight-rules lawyer) are running in circles around each other with Kuroi closing his ears as Shirakaba continues to confess his love to his gokudo crush (for more than 20 years). Kuroi also loves Shirakaba but doesn't want him to get involved with the yakuza, but Shirakaba does so anyway by becoming the family's lawyer (which Kuroi tries to protest by the silent treatment). Will this 30-year old love between these 37-year-olds finally be requited? ~Vol. 2, Chapter 1 (Chapter 6)
Shinobeba Koi
Toranosuke comes back to Tetsuya's hair salon after four years of not seeing each other, and Tetsuya decides to bring up the past, and how they slept together, interspersed with memories of them and his motorcycle... Toranosuke was the leader of a bike gang, something that teenager Tetsuya stumbled onto one night, and quickly was brought under the gang and Toranosuke's wing. Toranosuke has a special spot on the back of his motorbike he doesn't give to anyone else; yet Tetsuya, who isn't even part of the gang, gets to sit on it. They both have good flow and good chemistry; cherish each other like brothers are supposed to. Or is it something more? A fateful night changes their relationship forever, and five years later the aftermath comes to a head. = Spin-off of Nirameba Koi ~Extra Chapter (chapter 5.6)
