Cute!!! It's all one shots sadly, at least for most of them I would like a full volume manga, but oh well.

I didn't even realize I had this marked to read (can't be bothered to check when either but it was probably years ago). I finally came across it again and only noticed after I finished, but now I wish I'd read it sooner. I'm always a bit on the fence with relationships where one of the partners is in high school. I guess he must have been a senior because he's a college student in the extras and there's a line where he says they'd been together for a year. But I actually really like this. Anyway, the story focus mostly on the MCs and their feelings. They start liking reach other and get together very quickly but for such a short story I wasn't exactly expecting a slow burn. There isn't a lot of outside conflict, and side characters don't play much of a role. I do wish we'd seen more. Like Yamada going to see Chihiro's mom (it's just announced that he told her and she was fine with it) we also see an extra of them together 9 years later, and I wish we saw Chihiro's siblings because there's a short extra where his little brother says he'll marry Yamada-san when he grows older so they can play together every day I wish we got to see them become a family, not just the two of them, but with Chihiro's family, too. Also wish we saw Chihiro coming out in college because there was a scene where he got worried since a friend kept asking him to join a mixer (I won't explain this, you know if you've read manga for a while what it is) then it turns out Yamada already told his friends he was dating a younger guy. But oh well, what we do see is surprisingly cute and mature for a story involving a high school love interest and an adult.

I found the anime for this year's ago, back in 2016-2017. I loved it so much I went to look for the manga, and I stopped around ch42? Because I remember the line Yuki says after their hot spring trip. I was afraid everyone would die or something because of that line and I carried that with me for years. I finally rewatched the anime after all these years and I kinda wish they'd kept it close to the manga. Yuki in the manga is admirable, Yuki in the anime is almost too stupid especially toward the end when he goes against orders and gets himself caught or nearly killed. At least in the manga, those actions happened differently and make much more sense. I do still love the anime though because the soundtrack is wonderful (the first opening and ending are awesome ) and because Luka. Plus all the shounen ai. Now, the manga. I waited this long to read the ending, and it's far more disappointing than I thought. 63 chapters is way too short for all the plot points the mangaka brought up to be cleared. I got to chapter 55 and thought the story would be over in less than 10 chapters when it looks only at the half point. Another comment says the mangaka had an illness and had to cut the story short. But still this is basically fitting 50 chapters worth of content in like the last 4 chapters. The mangaka went on to start another manga after this which just makes me sad. Even if it took time, I would have waited for a proper story ending. I still have some hope for a manga that hasn't been updated since around 2011, I could have waited for this, too. We're left with so many questions, and Yuki's empathic powers from the beginning get completely forgotten.
