Interview with a Murderer
love every fucked up part of it
Black Mirror
taejun has lost his memories after a traumatic childhood event, and comes across his old childhood friend, who seems to be hiding something regarding the unsettling nightmares taejun experiences. the suspense and atmosphere was delicious, art and especially that car scene were glorius, but boy was that ending not up to par. maybe its because i waited so long for it instead of reading the whole work in one go, but the ending was meh at best and wtf just happened at worse.
Dog eats dog
not the worst ive seen in terms of gore n stuff but still pretty disturbing, the ml's past & current situation is interesting. not sure if there is more but it feels like a oneshot.
Yabai Hito ni Hitomebore Suru Hanashi
a girl takes in a runaway criminal to add to her collection big wtf at the end but no substance other than that.
DOGMA(Akabeko)
an eldest son imprisons and manipulates the father that never cared for him in his own form of obsessive love, after the death of his brother and mother. one of akabekos darker works, yes its really fucked up and weird but pretty compelling from a psychological/horror perspective, on top of great art there was interesting insight into topics like child neglect, fanaticism, manipulation, etc.
Mimi No Kaidan
short story anthologies centering around an unsettled mimi these were an interesting set of stories, my favorites were the seashore and just the two of us. do wish there was more lore in each of the stories but the sense of vagueness and mystery was still effective.
Hideout
a man takes his wife on vacation to restart their lives after their sons death, though his meaning of 'restart' turns out to be very literal. there is discourse over who is at fault, i'd say both husband and wife were quite awful in their own ways. gotta give props to the artist for making everything so detailed yet grotesque, the story was really creepy and though the ending was weird, it still felt in character.
Fetish
intriguing short stories that i actually enjoyed a lot if only for the visual aesthetics of the work-- disturbing surely but surprisingly fulfilling
Fuan No Tane
i feel like this was adequately creepy with pretty good art, just the fact that there was a lot of fluff and the stories cut off too early!
