Abarenbo honey
delinquent omega takuma falls for his rival hachi, and becomes determined to be hachis pair. feel like there was so much unnecessary assault in this comic but i really liked takuma and hachi's general dynamic (hyper x tame).
Lion and Venus
omega viligante shishio falls in love with the yakuza heir masami. thinking abt this got me kinda pissed, but everything was right there: sick character designs, interesting relationship dynamic and a lot of potential for something gritty and cool, but this story was just a confusing jumble of occurrences w useless side characters that end with a brother reveal (and then a NOT brother reveal at the end, wtf??).
Tosca no Inu
after an incident caused by a disobedient member of his group, nishida sets out to smooth things over with the rival gangs head, kuroda, and thus begins a mutually satisfactory relationship to keep the peace. considering how short this manga is, i think it was pretty well paced and had a simple and coherent plot. the childhood best friends plot was a bit cliche but worked out nicely. though i feel like the ending with both the yakuza leaders being okay with everything was too easy
Samurai Omega to Akutoku Shachou
ryuunosuke accepts yakuza heir masamune's offer of becoming his omega, in exchange for renovations to his grandfather's dojo. ngl i was very disappointed with this one!! the cover and character designs are sick, so i thought this would be good, but this was just 5 chapters of masamune being pushy and annoying af. i got the backstories and all but i wasnt feeling the chemistry, other than what was caused by heat. mom was funny tho!
Can a Gangster Leave the Gang?
deciding he doesnt want to live the rest of his life in fear oof death, gang member hyungwon runs away to hawaii and meets friendly sungjin, who turns out to be a cop. its a short read and wish there was more of it considering the cool premise, but i liked this! sungjin had a cute enthusiastic personality and contrasted well with hyungwon. the ending was pretty funny, yay to supportive gang leaders lmao.
The Omega Takes a Husband
i liked this, though i do feel like this wasnt fleshed out nearly enough within 5 chapters. it had all of the right story beats but i feel like the romance didnt have an adequate chance to develop. other than that, i loved the art, the character designs (THE TATTOOS UGHH) and how painfully respectful the ml was.
Majo to Neko
THIS. THIS was FANTASTIC. i liked the abo work by this author but this work was a complete confirmation for me-- i am officially a huge fan of kuroi yodaka and majo to neko is their best work to date, no doubt about it. i really liked the thicker art style they have, and the story itself, despite the minimal world building, was super interesting and i was really rooting for the main couple. they were so emotionally intimate, i loved it all.
Syunrai to Mitsu
first of all: art was fab. 2nd of all: character design was fab, especially the tattoos and piercings. 3rd of all: story was simultaneously so sad yet so nice, i loved the relationship development between the two main characters, so happy they got their good ending. only complaint is that i dont see why the yakuza guy had to turn up at the hospital one last time to rape blondie, just give my man a break fr.
Beast & Feast
started with an intriguing premise but you can really tell this was supposed to be an anthology-- the main plot was over and done by the end of ch1, and though the following chapters were better placed, they still felt disconnected. I liked the mls character design but couldn't really get around the sa.
