Nekoka Kareshi No Ayashikata

Complete | Sakyou Aya , SAKYO Aya | 2010 released

I started in yaoi through fanfiction doujinshi of Beyblade characters. This was the first yaoi manga that I fell in love with (makes sense considering one of the felines outnumbers some of the minor characters). This mangaka is by far my favorite! She has just enough finesse to show the explicit scenes, but draws the lines softer, which adds to the story's more intimate, gentle feeling. The characters have just enough personality to make them separate characters, but as the reader I can relate to both. She even taps into those desires that readers want but can't say aloud--like wanting to move in right away with someone you love, how it's okay to cling, how it's okay to not hold back emotions and fear, etc. At the same time, I've noticed in my country these traits are seen as unhealthy and codependent. :( So at the very least, if I am codependent, I can enjoy this part of me through a manga rather than drag it into a relationship.

As a PADI diver, it makes me so happy to find such a cute story that is also accurate (in terms of art and dive skills). They also have some explanations that get missed in other dive courses.
