Sayonara Boku No Princess Lolita
I feel that Kosaka and Kanbe's story made more of an impact than the first story, which I found quite bland and really boring. Plus, despite the promising title, the content/story was so underwhelming that I wanted to stop reading from chapter 2. Thank God I didn't though.
Tsume to Toge
I'm not even sure if I can ever get myself to read past chapter 3. It's boring and it has all the things that can make you stop reading— Not even the halfway decent art can make me change my mind. The seme is a jerk; the uke is such a push-over. It's funny how the same things happened in chapter 1 and 2. Jeez.
End Love
Art(2): The characters are pretty forgettable design-wise but it doesn't take away from the aesthetic value of the art. Although, I'm still 50/50 because this is the first I've read from this particular mangaka, so I may be judging the art prematurely... Plot(1): Just one star for the plot because I didn't like the first story. It has no appeal and it's also forgetable. It lacks the qualities to make it a material for re-reading. The second story though is redemption. It's pretty cute and definitely pulls at the heartstrings. Misc(-): Again, the title/the whole manga itself doesn't leave that much of an impact, so it gets no point for the miscellaneous bit. I'm also not that satisfied with the ending.
Love and Baseball
Art(2): On part with sensei's other works! I especially love Kamijou's design because it's the first time I've seen a redhead character coming from this mangaka. (And he has a beauty mark.) Plot(1): Don't get me wrong, I also love Yamamoto Kotetsuko and was expecting a lot because it's a baseball manga again but... IDK. It has a cheating and love triangle element to it, and feels slightly recycled to me. Chun Chun ga Chun and Fukurou-kun also has both so. Ending/Misc:(0) There are some mangas that can do without the much awaited s*x scene and this was one of them. I would've liked the ending to focus more on Kamijou and Takuma's relationship afterwards (or at least a clearer closure between the uke and Kamijou).
Sick
Eh... Half-and-half so far. Art: (2) Full marks. I like this art style wherein the lines aren't too neat. It gives the manga a light, kindof fluffy atmosphere. Plot: (1) Eh... Nothing remarkable. Just your typical story where your bully turns out to be deeply infatuated with the person being bullied. The brother could've been a great plot driver but wasn't really utilized to that extend. He seemed more like an accesory, which makes me sad since I quite like protective/possessive big brothers. Misc./Ending: (-) Will decide on the last star when the manga is finished.
Hana wa Saku ka
For such a long series, this doesn't have a lot of tension. There was very little conflict as well... But after reading everything, it still gave me a pretty nice feeling because of the slow pace and mellowed down story. (I wish there was more to the love triangle though. Such wasted potential!)
Wakabaryou de, Kimi to
Art(2): Nothing spectacular or special, but still warrants full 2-stars. Paneling was great, no awkward or sloppy drawings. The character designs were pretty staple in yaoi, but nothing too cliche. Plot(1): Very common storylines in yaoi, though I found the first story incredibly sweet and satisfying. The rest were so-so and not as memorable as the first one. Ending(1): The last chapter was a cute continuation of the first chapters... We were given a glimpse of Higuchi's family background. Kinda sad that Hidaka's sibs didn't get their exposure though.
Hachimitsu Darling
Art(2): Sensei always delivers such amazing art! Her uke isn't girly at all, which I really appreciate, and the seme is hot as hell. Although I can't praise the background much b/c I could hardly pay attention because of the gorgeous characters. Plot(2): It's a light read. The story is really simple and linear, plus the little bump in the relationship was addressed quickly. This isn't one of the cliche and longwinded formerly straight seme stories. Ending/Misc(1): I feel that I'm pretty biased since I've been sensei's reader for a very long time. Hachimitsu Darling is actually the first series I've read from her. Regardless of that, I give this story five stars!
Spicy & Sugary
Art(2): Stunning. Gorgeous. Beautiful. Just everything nice condensed into this series. The subtle lining of sensei's art style just elevates her illustrations to her own niche... like, it has become her trademark. And I love how she draws their bodieees! Nom~ Plot(2): The format of the first story seems more fluid to me, compared to Beast & Feast. It gradually built up towards the single obstacle in the story, and the conclusion was great. Glad that the H scenes weren't BOOM! in your face! Sometimes less is good. I also loved the story, though it completely lacked the mellow and sweet vibe the first story had. Misc/Ending(1): On an unrelated note, thank you kamisama for the amazing translation team for finishing the entire series.
