Dia Game
Art (2) Dia is too feminine looking for my tastes and I even mistook him for a girl initially. Other than that, I guess I have no other complaints because Master and Kuro both looked great and the anatomy of the characters was pretty solid... Though the background in a lot of panels was kinda lacking. Plot (1) Despite having solid pacing, this manga still lacks something special to make it memorable. It has an interesting (yet overrated vampire/human love story) concept... But the execution of the antagonist was a bit off. They could've exploited the fact that the Master had a lot of resources and could hire lackeys, who aren't such pushovers. I don't believe that he would just let Dia get away without much fuss. Plus, the fact that there was no explanation offered as to how and why Kuro fell for Dia in the first place. One big, unresolved mystery. Ending (0) Surprisingly, they live happily ever after and I find this too shoujo and cliche.
Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai
Pe-pe-pe-perfect! While every chapter is filled with drama, the character relationships still get developed well enough for the romance (or whatever bonds were formed) to be believable and realistic. As usual, I adore how Yoneda-sensei takes two broken individuals and pairs them up so that they can make each other whole again. It's really an unconventional love affair between the straight-laced Doumeki and the loose Yashiro. Once you immerse yourself in this manga, you'll start to get the feeling that both of them are descending to the pits of hell with no regrets.
Kami-sama No Iutoori (moegi Yuu)
Art (2) Pretty good, considering this manga is by Moegi Yuu-sensei. I love the anatomy, as usual, especially how the hands and lips were drawn (sexy). The characters, while I consider them 'beautiful', don't come across as girly looking; however, because of his clothes, Midori appears kinda drag queen-ish during the park encounter. Plot (2) While not exactly rare, I like this supernatural take on a deity/ human relationship. The pace is surprisingly fast, but mangas like this one rarely stretch out to many volumes, so I understand the need to keep the story rolling. Though, I am not sure if I like the fact that a third person was used to reveal the main 'conflict' of the story. Ending (-) Since it's an ongoing project, I'll leave this section blank.
Miwaku Shikake - Amai Wana
Art (2) Yonezou-sensei never fails to deliver in this department. Gorgeous characters, which extend even to the company president, and every one of them looked like guys. Spot-on anatomy, plus every panel is well detailed. Plot (2) Hilarious! In a good sense. Thank god there wasn't penetrative s*x here, because that would be stupid, given that Amami is homophobic. If this had been longer, I'm pretty sure that they'd go all they way, given Amami had realized that he was only nitpicky about the other guy's appearance. and, Hacchidori was surprisingly considerate of Amami's circumstances as well. Ending (0) All the loose ends were tied in the end, but it still feels unresolved. Probably because, Hacchidori and Amami had just hit it off.
Konbini-kun
Art (1) The illustration on some of the panels fell a bit flat, but aside from those, this manga I can say has Junko-sensei's style all over it. Very youthful looking characters and Yamai's design was honestly surprising because I hadn't seen her delinquent types before. So refreshing~ Plot (2) Despite it's lenght, the story was pretty amazing from start to finish. There was no such thing as a dull moment and the development of feelings was shown in both the characters' POVs. Also, I love the fact that it was Yamai's openness that helped Endou get over his past. Simply a cute and heart warming story. Ending (1) A happy ending that Endou truly deserves! It wasn't his fault that he fell for the wrong guy, so pairing him up with Yamai was truly the icing on the cake. (ahem, I want a story for Haru-san)
Star-like Words
Art (2) Nothing to complain about here. Very detailed down to the sexy scenes, great paneling and the facial expressions were to die for! I also like Nagayama's clothes - smart & sophisticated, and fits his personality really well. Plot (1) Now this had a lot of promise and would've been worth the 2 stars, BUT the sequence of events was off for me. First, I didn't think that Okada was a necessary antagonist. His interference just messed the flow up. Mihara however, had a lot of potential as the 'real' antagonist, but in the end, nothing really happened. Ending (0) It's the cliche ending to an above average story... I shouldn't have been surprised. After several conflicts that were resolved with a little talk and kiss, main pair ended up together. Note: The one shot is short and sweet, just as a one shot should be.
Kimi Note
Art (2) I think Junko-sensei's art leveled up in this manga. I totally adore Sawatari's chara design, especially in casual clothes and with his hair up. Another thing to take note off is the shot of the back of the knees (Sawatari') during one of the h scenes. Really amazing. Plot (2) Again, too short, but I really like the concept this time. Usually, fetishes disgust (sorry for the strong word) me but the overall flow and mood of the manga made me forget that. And Miyasaka was just so adorable with his jealousy and insecurities that it added to the appeal of the story. Ending (-) I have nothing against short mangas, but to me, they feel a bit open ended. There are still tons of things that could happen between them like college life! Miyasaka would be a completely doting lover since Sawatari attracts too much attention. Note: The one shots were a little flat for me. And the last one seems kinda... amateur-ish, to put it bluntly. It really isn't sensei's best work.
Boku no Shiru Anata no Hanashi
Hisho To Shachou No Himitsugoto
For something that isn't finished yet, I've reached my quota for the shallowness of the uke. He isn't understanding at all and I don't think he knows how to separate personal matters from work. Plus, he's so oblivious to his surroundings. I can only feel bad for the seme who has to put up with everything. The art gets full two stars though. I may/may not up my rating depending on how this ends, though I make no promises.
