Sick
Eh... Half-and-half so far. Art: (2) Full marks. I like this art style wherein the lines aren't too neat. It gives the manga a light, kindof fluffy atmosphere. Plot: (1) Eh... Nothing remarkable. Just your typical story where your bully turns out to be deeply infatuated with the person being bullied. The brother could've been a great plot driver but wasn't really utilized to that extend. He seemed more like an accesory, which makes me sad since I quite like protective/possessive big brothers. Misc./Ending: (-) Will decide on the last star when the manga is finished.
Hana wa Saku ka
For such a long series, this doesn't have a lot of tension. There was very little conflict as well... But after reading everything, it still gave me a pretty nice feeling because of the slow pace and mellowed down story. (I wish there was more to the love triangle though. Such wasted potential!)
Wakabaryou de, Kimi to
Art(2): Nothing spectacular or special, but still warrants full 2-stars. Paneling was great, no awkward or sloppy drawings. The character designs were pretty staple in yaoi, but nothing too cliche. Plot(1): Very common storylines in yaoi, though I found the first story incredibly sweet and satisfying. The rest were so-so and not as memorable as the first one. Ending(1): The last chapter was a cute continuation of the first chapters... We were given a glimpse of Higuchi's family background. Kinda sad that Hidaka's sibs didn't get their exposure though.
Hachimitsu Darling
Art(2): Sensei always delivers such amazing art! Her uke isn't girly at all, which I really appreciate, and the seme is hot as hell. Although I can't praise the background much b/c I could hardly pay attention because of the gorgeous characters. Plot(2): It's a light read. The story is really simple and linear, plus the little bump in the relationship was addressed quickly. This isn't one of the cliche and longwinded formerly straight seme stories. Ending/Misc(1): I feel that I'm pretty biased since I've been sensei's reader for a very long time. Hachimitsu Darling is actually the first series I've read from her. Regardless of that, I give this story five stars!
Spicy & Sugary
Art(2): Stunning. Gorgeous. Beautiful. Just everything nice condensed into this series. The subtle lining of sensei's art style just elevates her illustrations to her own niche... like, it has become her trademark. And I love how she draws their bodieees! Nom~ Plot(2): The format of the first story seems more fluid to me, compared to Beast & Feast. It gradually built up towards the single obstacle in the story, and the conclusion was great. Glad that the H scenes weren't BOOM! in your face! Sometimes less is good. I also loved the story, though it completely lacked the mellow and sweet vibe the first story had. Misc/Ending(1): On an unrelated note, thank you kamisama for the amazing translation team for finishing the entire series.
Sabita Yoru Demo Koi Wa Sasayaku
Just... a full five stars because the story is amazing! I usually like to nitpick about the art and other stuff but I just glossed over all my criteria because the story is just so sad, powerful and very impactful. This is not for readers who like their yaoi sweet and fluffy.
Boku no Ano Ko
The story is ok, pretty common. Gave me a few laughs, but not enough to leave a lasting impression. The winning factor of this manga is the art style, which I really adore!
Love Lesson (chidori peko)
The art is gorgeous, which is the staple with sensei, hoeever the story itself was pretty predictable. Two high profile people with risks to their reputation if their relationship were to be exposed... sounds like all the other mangas which involve really famous people, which made the manga forgetful.
Renai Moratorium
This is one straight forward manga. Start to finish, it leaves no stone unturned. Pretty satisfying because there are no loose ends... just really curious if the uke ended up quitting his job. (On another note, the characters didn't have much back story so individually, I found them slightly boring and forgettable.)
