Houyou Jikken
The pace of the manga isn't good at all. It kinda keeps on talking about 'sickness this, sickness that' and while Rei's determination is endearing, Miya's doubts and whatnot are really off-putting. Really, a sick person traveling far away in order to confirm a hunch? Not buying it. Still, even when the art is sloppy in some places, it's good enough to still deserve 3 stars... just barely.
110-ban Wa Uketsukemasen!
The manga had a lot of push-and-pulls going on and not a lot of romance. I was pretty disappointed that love triangle (poor Igarashi...) was used as the main plot driver, too. While I don't have a lot of complaints about the art, the body and face anatomy was off at some point, especially chapter 5. Last but not the least, the sex scene wasn't necessary and kinda cheapened the ending.
Houkago no Love Call
Thanks to the last one shot, the rating for this manga went from 3 stars to 4. Firstly, the main story promotes an unhealthy relationship. Despite the fact that Kazushi has declared that he loves Ueda-sensei, he still hurts and verbally abuses him. Regardless of whether the seme is in the yakuza or not, I don't think that that was the right way to act around someone's lover. (The bits about the son were hilarious though) After the streak of sadism, the author surprised me with a one shot so fluffy that I almost forgot about the negative criticism I had for the previous stories. The art for 'Happiness Will Come to this Place'(title?) is kinda sloppy, but tolerable.
Dia Game
Art (2) Dia is too feminine looking for my tastes and I even mistook him for a girl initially. Other than that, I guess I have no other complaints because Master and Kuro both looked great and the anatomy of the characters was pretty solid... Though the background in a lot of panels was kinda lacking. Plot (1) Despite having solid pacing, this manga still lacks something special to make it memorable. It has an interesting (yet overrated vampire/human love story) concept... But the execution of the antagonist was a bit off. They could've exploited the fact that the Master had a lot of resources and could hire lackeys, who aren't such pushovers. I don't believe that he would just let Dia get away without much fuss. Plus, the fact that there was no explanation offered as to how and why Kuro fell for Dia in the first place. One big, unresolved mystery. Ending (0) Surprisingly, they live happily ever after and I find this too shoujo and cliche.
Recipe No Oujisama
Art (2) No sloppy/rushed panels, great character design and the s*x scene that every fan girl's waiting for was drawn beautifully. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that Shouhei's clothing was too casual. He's a budding celebrity so I think he should dress the part. Plot (2) The start of the series was promising... But it got rushed near the end. The feelings weren't developed and instead, we just got a flashback from childhood as the excuse to make Shouhei and Kei fall in love with each other. AND the ecchi scene (while amazingly hot and mind blowing) was a bit forced, NOT in the non-con way. Ending (0) Quite unsatisfying. Could've done better by at least giving us a glimpse of how the cooking contest ended (and then insert the congratulatory s*x after).
Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai
Pe-pe-pe-perfect! While every chapter is filled with drama, the character relationships still get developed well enough for the romance (or whatever bonds were formed) to be believable and realistic. As usual, I adore how Yoneda-sensei takes two broken individuals and pairs them up so that they can make each other whole again. It's really an unconventional love affair between the straight-laced Doumeki and the loose Yashiro. Once you immerse yourself in this manga, you'll start to get the feeling that both of them are descending to the pits of hell with no regrets.
Kami-sama No Iutoori (moegi Yuu)
Art (2) Pretty good, considering this manga is by Moegi Yuu-sensei. I love the anatomy, as usual, especially how the hands and lips were drawn (sexy). The characters, while I consider them 'beautiful', don't come across as girly looking; however, because of his clothes, Midori appears kinda drag queen-ish during the park encounter. Plot (2) While not exactly rare, I like this supernatural take on a deity/ human relationship. The pace is surprisingly fast, but mangas like this one rarely stretch out to many volumes, so I understand the need to keep the story rolling. Though, I am not sure if I like the fact that a third person was used to reveal the main 'conflict' of the story. Ending (-) Since it's an ongoing project, I'll leave this section blank.
Miwaku Shikake - Amai Wana
Art (2) Yonezou-sensei never fails to deliver in this department. Gorgeous characters, which extend even to the company president, and every one of them looked like guys. Spot-on anatomy, plus every panel is well detailed. Plot (2) Hilarious! In a good sense. Thank god there wasn't penetrative s*x here, because that would be stupid, given that Amami is homophobic. If this had been longer, I'm pretty sure that they'd go all they way, given Amami had realized that he was only nitpicky about the other guy's appearance. and, Hacchidori was surprisingly considerate of Amami's circumstances as well. Ending (0) All the loose ends were tied in the end, but it still feels unresolved. Probably because, Hacchidori and Amami had just hit it off.
