Usotsukiyachi no Nagai Yoru

I would have been disappointed if we were met with a fruitless end. Fortunately we were given a fluffy ending that, in my veryyy honest opinion, made up for the angst. Usually, authors would be so quick to romanticize rape, almost immediately after the fact, but this one took a different approach. Although the trope still surfaces in the story, we see the struggles between the accused and the victim. Arioka knew, instantly, after being drowned in lustful desire, that he had raped Sensei and became ridiculed with guilt, regret, shame, and much more. I admired that he apologized to Sensei, not to save face, but to show that he truly loves Sensei and that he gravely regrets what he did to him. He even understood how much Sensei might be troubled having to be in close proximity to himself and did his best to keep the distance...and dispite Sensei’s many reproaches, he still advanced and proclaimed that he would never give up on Sensei. It’s a new approach that the story gives, two characters falling in love because of the punishments and sufferings each endured. I am glad things worked out for them. ️

Okay, first of all: YESSS!!! I am so releived that they ended up together. This was a story! It was quite odd that the son went back in time and had a “relationship” and sex with his father’s younger self because there was no explanation as tk why it happened, but it happened and I was all over that baby. And to think that Konomi realized he has slept with and fell in love with his son from the future in the past was completely heart wrenching. Like, no, even if he is your son, just fall in looove! He loves you back, wayyy too much. Ugh, I swear dad x son incest mangas are lethal. They make me feel things mah heart shouldn’t feel. Stahb it!
Chou to Kumo no Su
When you’ve read enough, things don’t get as disturbing as you’d expect. Still, it’s pretty aweful that his was stripped of his freedom and decided to find a sliver of happiness in the cage he was kept confined in. Thank GOODNESS he has a good lover now.
