First of all, there’s something so relatable with the MC.
Secondly, the chemistry is INTENSE.
Thirdly, the moments of fluff in the bleakness of it all are TOO MOVING IMA CRY.
Fourthly, did I say yet that the sex is INTENSE?
Lastly, EUIYOON is too adorable? Like, he’s the most adorable child character I’ve EVER ENCOUNTERED IN WEBTOON / MANGA UNIVERSE. No kidding.
P.s. and there’s so much potential to where the S1 left of. It creates so much anticipation and just can’t wait.
P.s.s. Seme (Taejoo) has a soft spot for MC at times, as much as a soft spot a rough playboy yakuza could have, and I’m hoping he’ll change more and more. I mean, I don’t want him to lose his edge - that’s part of his charm - but I’m looking forward to him and MC get more emotionally connected. It’s something really rare to see a seme like this one - the charm he has is hard to explain (dark, sharp, arrogant, shady, but shows some sense at times, a fleeting tenderness, a yearning he himself doesn’t seem to be aware of when it comes to MC).
Anyways, really really looking forward to further developments.
Omg season 3 is sad but also emotionally fulfilling? The MC and ML are starting to undergo a dynamic change, and MC’s feelings toward his brother is getting refined as well. In the end, he loves Euiyong after all (euiyong is so cute! My baby!)
I don’t think there’s anything quite like this BL
(Update) I’ve been grappling with how to define my love for the characters here — yes, even ML — and I think I may be grasping it a little bit now (that there’s more development and material to reflect on).
Some parts are still up in the air for me to verbalize how I feel or think about them (it sucks how this intuition thing works) but there are some things I’m able to describe now.
For one, the enemies to lovers trope being explored. It’s such a popular trope that there are works out there that fail to give justice. The potential of this trope is the character growth and the compatibility that doesn’t show at the start of the relationship but blossoms through time. And this manga just reminded me of that.
ML might be a thug, but through MC the sides of him he may be the most unfamiliar with, that are attentive and selfless and caring and passionate and protective and nurturing (I could keep going), find a channel, and this gobsmacks him. This thug who’s vicious and ruthless and feared and dominant, turns into this clumsy hubby who is incisive when it comes to MC. He explores the side of him unrelated to violence and brutality, awkwardly but surely, and learns delicate handling and kindness. MC who’s been through a lot, reasonably distrusts ML, but this ML could see and thus tries to change his ways. MC did not tell him to change — this is ML’s decision himself.
I think the most profound and impactful changes of all are the ones we choose by ourselves and conclude by ourselves — that’s the most lasting.
(76) trust me. The couple growth is off the charts!
(81) NOW this is the character development I’m looking for. You better keep it coming taeju!
(98) oh my gosh so good. MC finally is able to express himself to ML. Hot damn though. The way their dynamic works and its transformation is beyond exciting - sparks are gonna fly. This is one of the most emotionally insightful and satisfying reads ever
(99) my OTP has come full circle! ️️️
